Hi Mr

This appears to be a magazine, not a book. ISBN13s always start with 978 or 979. I'll have to ask what happens with this record.

MR A G PHILIP | 38 comments Thanks. It’s certainly not a magazine but a quarterly book contains many articles. There are 45 different issues. All of which are on here

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7858 comments I reviewed a handful of the other issues, and most are either Kindle editions with an ASIN or paperback editions with an ISBN-13 identifier. As the librarian pointed out above, ISBN-13 identifiers begin with 978 or 979 and are 13 digits long. ISBN-10 identifiers are 10 digits long.

Would you mind checking the ISBN[s] on your paperback book again and see if you find an ISBN-10 and/or an ISBN-13 identifier?

Thank you for helping us with this.

MR A G PHILIP | 38 comments I have gone through all the books and up until issue 43 inclusive the paperback versions started 978 as expected. It is since then that all numbers have gone to 977 versions

MR A G PHILIP | 38 comments Just checked a couple of paperback versions here since issue 33 and no isbn is recorded so possibly why the issue is just coming up as the ability to add books from people has now Been removed

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7858 comments Everything I have found in my searches so far identifies the number 9772046682007 as a barcode for a magazine, not an ISBN.

One more question about the paperback you have. I got the impression that your library includes the earlier editions as well as the later editions with the 977 barcode. Is the method of binding the same on both the older 978/ISBN books and the more recent 977/barcode books?

I did find Issue 44 listed on Amazon in Kindle format; I added that here, ASIN B09V5NF5TC: The Blizzard: The Football Quarterly: Issue 44

I am going to ask our staff Librarian Moderator, Rivka, for a ruling on how to proceed. One solution would be to merge the no-ISBN paperback edition into the Kindle edition in order to retain the ratings/reviews. We appreciate your patience as we work through how best to handle this.

That seems like the best option.

MR A G PHILIP | 38 comments Just to add that binding is always the same across all 45 versions

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7858 comments Thank you, Rivka.

Mr. Philip, thank you for reporting back on the binding, and for all the help you've been as we've tried to sort this out. I really appreciate it.

In this case, the paperbacks without ISBNs do not meet the criteria for inclusion in the Goodreads catalog. We will be merging the paperback editions without ISBNs with their corresponding Kindle version so that we retain the ratings and reviews.

Again, thank you for your help and your patience.

MR A G PHILIP | 38 comments Many thanks for all the help on this. Must be a nightmare deciding what is and isn’t in the mix so to speak

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7858 comments It can get confusing, that's for sure! We truly appreciate our Staff Moderator, Rivka, for helping us stay in compliance.
