Steve Hofstetter is a comedian best known for his YouTube videos of “owning” hecklers. In his book Ginger Kid, he tells the story of growing up in the New York City borough of Queens, being the new kid at Hunter College High School, and being bullied.

This book is written for kids that are being bullied. To help them see what to do and what not to do. Hofstetter developed some detrimental coping mechanisms, but now, as a successful adult, he can also give advice that the actuality of what we fear is rarely as bad as the fear itself.

Hofstetter show how he learned from his own character flaws, how awful and awkward he was with girls, and what true friends are as well as how to be a real friend.

I enjoyed the book. Even though Hofstetter’s video is filled with bad language, the book did not have a single curse word and also was humorous.
