Maddie S | 8 comments Twisted Threads is about a Hmong girl named Mai that moved to America. Mai and her grandma where in a refugee camp for ten years after her parents where killed back in her village. She gets her dream after a long struggle of going to America to reunite with her family to find her cousins have changed dramatically since she last seen them ten years ago.
I like this book because the author is very good at describing her struggles and reliefs. I also like how it teaches you about the Hmong people and culture. The thing I don't like about this book is that is has a few Hmong words that don't have translations. But it does have a lot that are translated in the back of the book. I recommend this book to people who like learning about other cultures.
