Dobby (dobby0390) | 7869 comments We prefer to merge deleted scenes or short stories with a related book if possible so we don't lose the reviews/ratings.

Please match each record to a related book for merging, if appropriate. For example, match the deleted scene with the book it would have been in. Match a short story with the anthology in which it was published, if one exists.

Any shorts that were not published on their own (with an ISBN or ASIN) and that were not included in a published anthology will be reviewed for possible deletion.

Thank you. :)

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7869 comments Thank you for numbering them; that helps so much. :)

The combine and merge processes are being exceptionally slow today. The merges are pending, though they may take some time. I will come back periodically and check on the progress.

ETA: Merges complete

R⭐ (rrrrrrrrrr1234567890) | 119 comments Please note that Goodreads considers extra stories as valid records if the authors published them on their website, which seems to be the case of this request.
From the Manual: "Shorts that belong are those that are: published online as a specified short story."

R⭐ (rrrrrrrrrr1234567890) | 119 comments Well, that rule has been there for some time now. As far as I know, it doesn't matter if the extra stories are set during or after a particular book, they are considered valid records as long as they are published separately from the books. Perhaps you're confusing the rule about not adding stories that are part of other books? For instance, if a short story was published only at the back of a book or if it is a bonus story available only in an exclusive edition, then it is not a valid record. And of course, to be accepted, short stories must be available through book publishing platforms (Wattpad, Scribd, etc.), online stores, the author's website, and so many other ways.

R⭐ (rrrrrrrrrr1234567890) | 119 comments As for deleted scenes, yes, those are not allowed. Although I don't know the extent of that rule. The Manual doesn't go into detail about it, so I genuinely wonder if a deleted scene published on the author's website (which seems to be the case of one of your requests) is allowed. I wonder if it could count as "published online as a specified short story". Hopefully another Librarian, Super or a Staff will see this and share their thoughts on this, and their interpretation of the rule.
