I was really surprised by the low number of reviews, given the great enthusiasm for the tag during voting. It won easily, but it was quickly apparent that people weren't gravitating to the books. I wonder if it's a topic that people wanted to support, or felt they "should" support, even though they didn't have many specific books they wanted to read for the tag.
I'm surprised too! I had the opposite issue in that all my books seemed to qualify. I think I read 9 for the tag! Though sometimes I get excited for a tag and then realize that it doesn't fit well with my other challenges for the month. I do not think through/ plan ahead with my voting.

And to answer Nancy above, my preference often tends to be for narrower tags. I don't like the really broad tags. I like to use the tag to pick what I read that month, but when I have over 100 books that fit (as I did for this month), that doesn't help narrow it down much!
Some people, I think, also like to "stretch", so will choose a narrower tag. I know this is less common as often people will choose based on how many books are on their tbr for the tag, but there are other reasons for choosing, too.
I will also add that when people read the same book for the tag, for the stats here, it only gets counted once. I don't go through and manually count. I just use the number of titles added to the shelf... which reminds me - I see I forgot to add the link in the first post. Will do that now!

This is our lowest number this year, but I would guess that's because it's the most narrow we've done in a while.
At least for me, it was less likely that I'd just happen to read something that fit for this tag, so maybe that's why not as many this time around.
