This is for books written for 12 year old and younger (think Elementary and Middle School grades).

With summer just about over, let's end it with a bang and a theme of a "Summer-y" read. Before nominating, please take effort to research the book it for its cleanliness aspect. We will take 10 nominations to the voting poll.

Along with your book nomination, please tell us WHY you chose this book and HOW it has a summer feel to it. There are NO wrong reasons, we just want to get you talking and involved. Who knows, your book may win in the polls.

Nominated by Willow Anne
Ill nominate The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy by Jeanne Birdsall

This was one of my favorite books as a child, and id love to reread it this summer. Its about a family (a widower and his 4 daughters) who go on vacation and it just feels exactly like childhood and friendship and vacation. I still love it no matter how many times i reread it!

Restart by Gordon Korman

Lately I have been reading through Gordon Korman's books and absolutely loving them! I chose this one to nominate because it has an amazing message along with a great story. It's all about second chances and redemption in a story filled with humor, friendship, and fun!

The One and Only Bob by Katherine Applegate

I just finished The One and Only Ivan which was a great summer read as kids head out on family vacation adventures. Reading the synopsis this ones sounds like an end of summer with hurricanes starting.

Madison McAuley | 25 comments Out of My Heart A young girl with CP and her adventure’s at summer camp, where she learns just how brave she can really be. It’s the sequel for Out of My Mind but could be read as a stand-alone (although I would recommend reading the other book first if you can.)
