The book starts out with the main character being a librarian and working at the library. Shortly after we meet the main character a weird man with black eyes and furry beast arms comes and takes him away for some unknown reason. We later learn that during the cultures coming of age ceremony to find out what you will do(the character holds a crystal and it turns blue)that he was chosen to become a special type of Knight for the kingdom. After doing some training at the keep he is taken to his eyes are taken out and a pair of eyes from a magical human race are put in. Soon after we learn that after the transplant that most of the eyes turn black but his stayed purple. later on in the book his arms legs and ears are transplanted with the limbs of a dire-raptor he killed. later on in the book we learn that the reason his eyes have stayed purple is because he loved the woman whose eyes he got. Even later in the book we learn that the woman is still alive and is pregnant. On the way to rescue her we learn that he can move extremely fast but at the cost of his heart hurting.

In the second book his daughter is kidnapped and on the way to rescue her he goes to a group of intelligent wolfs to see if he can get one of their hearts so that he can use his power to their fullest.

The overall plot of the series is that the kingdom of man is surrounded and is loosing ground to something.

If you put more detail in your header/title line, you may get more hits. Everyone on this site is looking for help with a book, so if we all just wrote help, we'd never know which title o go back and look for.
