I just happened to locate it ! Is was in my Nook app rather than the Kindle app. "Christmas Beau" by Mary Balough.
It picks up again 8 years later when she comes to London with her two small children... and meets the man she was supposed to marry.
He starts out with plans of revenge... but is captivated by the children... then the heroine.
It does have a happily ever after ending
I purchased it in the fall of 2014 as an ebook.Just cannot locate it now.
