Synopsis:

Kit Adderley is the worst man in England, a bored libertine who’ll do anything to entertain himself, including kidnapping the strong-minded, freckled dab of a girl promised to his partner in crime.

Bryony Marton is trapped in a quiet life and looking for escape, when her awful fiancé’s best friend inadvertently offers it. Everything would be fine if he hadn’t kidnapped her pretty young cousin as well. And now there’s a handsome young Bow Street Runner chasing them..!

On the road, Bryony embraces her freedom, and she’s more than willing to embrace her captor, a man who kicks over convention and isn’t nearly as bad as he and the rest of the world think he is, but now she has a new problem: how to convince the worst man in England, Scotland and Wales that he’s the best man for her?

This was an amusing read. The H fit the title to a T. The h had freckles and red hair with a full figure. She, her family ( cousins) fiancé all thought she was unattractive except the H. I enjoyed it and gave it four stars.🌟⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have started reading this and I had forgotten how much I love Anne Stuart. This book and her style may not be for everyone, but I am enjoying myself immensely so far.

So far, the title is a perfect fit.

I enjoyed this book. I like the irreverence of Kit. As noted by Darbella it (view spoiler)[was a hoot seeing Kit ignoring the gorgeous blonde and wanting the freckled redhead instead (hide spoiler)] I have to say, I think Latherby wins the title of absolutely positively worst man in all of the United Kingdom, however Kit does a good job of living up to the title.


There quite a few moments during the novel when I found myself chuckling....a sign of a good read!!

It was four star read for me. I am never big on the two romance novel as there is always one romance that I am more interested in and I get frustrated when I have to read about the other - however the author did a good job. I would also have like a little more background on Kit's childhood. You kind of get a sense of what it was like, but it kind of feels out of reach.

I can't wait (even though I have to wait on the library book) as this sounds like a fun book.

This author is the master of bad boys. From memory most of her Heros have a voracious appetite for sensual pleasures and would not be accepted in "good society"(view spoiler)[ definitely not the men that you would be very happy if your daughter brought home. Reminds me of all those boys I coveted in my misspent youth (hide spoiler)]

I thought the epilogue was great. A bit different to most epilogues.

One of my favourite bad boys in historical romance is the Hero in Devil's Cub - in some ways these books are very similar, However as it is a Heyer there is not quite so much steam...

Darbella - if you want to read more of Anne Stuart the 'House of Rohan' and 'Scandal in the House of Russell' are both great series.

I am up to chapter 6 and am really enjoying the book. That Byrony has any self-esteem is amazing lol.

I finished the book and really enjoyed it. 4-4.5* (view spoiler)[My thoughts (quibbles)....this book could only be read in Romanceland. Two "friends" who cheat at cards and wager over kidnapping and "ravishing" an innocent woman. I enjoy Stuarts rogues with hard outside and marshmallow inside. A lot of tongue in cheek writing.
The Baron had NO redeeming qualities, But the Earl went to his hunting lodge and was thinking about checking in on Byrony, because drunken Syphilitic George can always be counted on to do as told! NOT! (hide spoiler)]
