I am reading All You Need is Fudge
. Book 4 in the series. I enjoy this well written easy to read series. Love the puppy Mal (bichon, poodle cross). Allie and Jenn are great characters. Mackinac Island is great setting for this series.

I've got Oh, Fudge!, book #5 in the series, on my list to read in July. This gives me a reason to bump it up higher on the list :)
I gave the first book 3 stars, skipped for some reason the 2nd and gave the 3rd book 1 star. I still want to read more of this series because the idea of the series is very much distinctive.
I love Mal and the fudge! I made the hot chocolate fudge for Christmas. It was a LOT but sooo good! Not a huge fan of Ali. She gets a little better when she adjusts to the island and gets her hotel up and running but not much. She's too stubborn, stupidly careless and her romances are tedious. I like her friend Jenn better. I just love sweet Mal though.

I read Oh, Fudge!, #5 in the series, earlier this week, and like QNPoohbear, am getting annoyed with Allie's carelessness. Things happened in her personal life in this book that give me hope for the next in the series, but we'll see. Mal is a great addition to the books, and I like Jen and Frances too :)
I listened to All Fudged Up and I loved it! I can't wait to listen to more of the series. I enjoyed meeting Allie and her friends (old and new). The setting of the grand hotel is charming! I've never been to Mackinac Island, but I would love to visit.
Like Zermeena, I listened to and loved
. While it's true that Allie may be more than a little naive in some ways, it sticks once she figures something out. I was not too fond of Mabel from the outset, though I was surprised at how she turned out to be involved in the mystery.
One romantic relationship brewing between two of the characters is almost blatantly obvious, while from what I can see, it seems as though Allie may have her choice of at least two suitors. I have my own hopes as to how that turns out, but one never knows.....
I'm on Team Single Allie. I don't like any of the men so far. She can still have a child to leave the McMurphy to even if she doesn't choose one of the main prospects. There seemed to be someone in one of the Christmas novellas. I keep hoping for someone else to return to their home on the island after years away. There's a secondary romance and a third one too for those who enjoy romantic subplots.
I'm having a slow time getting through this. I'm not really connecting to Allie. Hope I start liking her or at least the other characters make up for her. Jenn has just arrived and I'm pretty sure I like her.
Somehow I missed we read this author in 2022. Well I like her books. Good books for February and Valentine's day

She always has to be right even when she's not and I don't think she's managed to solve a single murder yet. She was especially obtuse in one recent book. There's a new one coming later in the year and I'll probably read it but I don't click with Allie.
Candy-Coated Mysteries by Nancy CoCo is the member's choice series for February 2025. It was also a featured read in July 2022. Set on Mackinac Island, Michigan, Alice McMurphy is the owner of the historic McMurphy Hotel and Fudge Shop.

I finished Forever Fudge, book 6. I liked it a lot capturing island life and those who want to live on an island. Of course Marshmallo steals the show.
I finished
Oh, Fudge! #5 a few days ago. It's been a little while since I read the previous book, and I remember not being too enamored of it. This current one was a good read, though at some point I felt the MC's cousin was beating to death her unhappiness with their situation. It's also possible that the MC isn't as unlikeable in this one.

Allie McMurphy is up to her neck in renovations at the grand old hotel that's been in her family for generations. With its quaint Victorian charm--and world-famous fudge shop--the place is one of Mackinac Island's most beloved landmarks.
