I didn't notice that Lucy was not a Maxine fan in the past. I think that Lucy believes that Max is a bad influence on Sean.
When Max helped solve Justin's murder, Lucy was very grateful to her. It seems like she has taken a step back since then. I like Anita's idea that Lucy is afraid Max is going to lead Sean into some trouble while they're investigating.
Frankly, I was disappointed in Lucy’s attitude towards Max. I thought they’d created a stronger relationship, though I knew they’d never be besties. I think you’re right about her concern that Max might get Sean into troublesome waters.
It was funny, though, how she defended her to Detective Jennifer Reed. I’m thinking it is all about Sean.

Sean threw Maxine at Lucy when she was tired and not thinking clearly. He didn't give Lucy any warning. The Justin case caused a lot of trouble for Lucy, which she has worked through with Rachel. Now Maxine is back trying to get Lucy to break protocol again. I understood Lucy's anger at Maxine's pushing her.I had the opposite reaction to Jonetta. I was angry with Maxine for pushing so hard. I was also a little pissed at Sean for allowing it to last so long.
Yes, Lucy is jealous. When Sean is working with Maxine, he can push the envelope. Sean likes that part of working with Maxine. Lucy has to play by the rules. I can see where that would worry Lucy. Even though she knows Sean loves her, past experiences always jump up when we least expect it. Also, Dillion has become a big fan of Maxine, which only highlights that her family resists coming to her house for Thanksgiving. Throwing all these things together makes Lucy weary.
