Despite little evidence, everyone seemed to assume that the Albrights fled to Mexico to avoid Denise being prosecuted for embezzlement. Was that because the police had done such a good job of creating that illusion, federal law enforcement ceding the investigation to them and dropping the ball or a combination of both?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments The picture of their SUV heading into Mexico was compelling evidence that they had fled. But, if that was their only evidence they didn't do a very good job investigating.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I agree, Anita. A single picture of the car crossing into Mexico seemed to be the only evidence. Wouldn't there be more in the file? It should at least show other lines of inquiry that they made.

It all was lousy investigative work. If there was one picture, there would be more that would give them a better view of who was in that car. And, they had assets in Mexico that could have confirmed as much. And, no way would they flee to Mexico and never contact friends or family.

This was shoddy work, especially on the federal level. The local investigation was a joke and they should have seen it.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I agree. The photo wasn't very good and gave no solid proof that they entered Mexico. It was as if they just wanted to close the case and be done with it.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree with all of you. I was curious why the feds didn't look for more evidence. I agree, Melissa. They all acted like they wanted to close the case and move on to something else.
