Cyl (alohacyl) | 9 comments I love the books of James Rollins.

Georgann | 49 comments I started this today and oh my! I haven't read one of Rollins' books before. I am glad this could easily be a stand alone - I'm not lost at all. It sure lives up to being a thriller! The action is nonstop! The scene with the driver ants reminded me of the old movie, Elephant Walk. It had a scene with army ants that freaked me out when I saw it on our old tv as a kid. I've made it about halfway through the book and I'm wondering if someone isn't orchestrating the virus and the changes in the animals, like in Patterson's Zoo, the TV show. (I didn't actually read the book, just the beginning and end. Humans lost.)

Georgann | 49 comments And finished it today. Great recommendation! Very apropos to our day. I loved how the author took us through the gamut of emotions, especially at the end. I enjoyed the end notes, although I barely even started the book before I had to look up about Rev. William Sheppard. The atrocities we commit on one another in the name of gaining land or wealth or religion is unbelievable, and still continues in our day. I really liked the illustrations. I even submitted 2 names for the pup!
