Heiko (vcdwelt) | 31 comments Hi,
sometimes there are multiple ASIN Editions for some kindle books.

e.g.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
--> ASIN B082Q5BXHM
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
--> ASIN B088D5N1NH

ASIN B082Q5BXHM did not exist on Amazon and also Google did not find any related information for this ASIN.

How can this happen, a ASIN did disappear completely ?

Last time i deleted this entry, because i thought it was a faulty entry, but i received a warning from Goodreads:

"""We are happy to count you as one of our Goodreads librarians. However, we recently noticed that you had deleted a valid Kindle edition of the book , which is actually against our rules."""

How to handle this kind of entry? Found nowhere any information to this ASIN (B082Q5BXHM).

Renske | 12220 comments According to the changelog, it was imported from Amazon. So we assume it was a valid edition at that time and therefore still is, unless we have clear evidence it never was a valid edition.

ASIN is just an internal number from Amazon, so if the edition is removed from Amazon, it can be hard to find any information afterwards.

Heiko (vcdwelt) | 31 comments Thanks for the feedback.

So now i know how to handle this kind of books :-)

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 9386 comments If it was imported by Amazon, leave it alone if it's a book. Existend long enough to get imported.
I would even let it alone if it's entered by user, except it's a really weird "Asin" - had it once that someone entered words (or parts of them) as ASIN, that had to do something with the title.
That was obviously no ASIN. But otherwise, I leave them alone.
