Oh, I'm excited to read this one and this family sounds similar to my in-laws except I get along with them pretty well for the most part. My husband and his parents are all geologists and his sister is an attorney who used to work with migrant workers that were being mistreated by the farmers they were working for. Pretty sure I am not what they envisioned for my husband. Ha! While I follow politics fairly closely and get fired up about social injustice; I try to balance it with trying to be optimistic, finding humor situations, and sometimes watching mindless tv...oh and we don't really talk about how I was in a sorority in college I don't think they know how to reconcile all of that.
Alaina, can you tell me if the August book is from B. A. Paris? I've seen that it's Behind Closed Doors and maybe I'll order it when I buy the July book. I haven't been able to ask you on the August forum because there's nothing posted yet. I hope you don't mind that I asked it here. Thank you!

Yes it is! Can you view august - I think I may have a glitch. I tried adding a new file but it seems to keep disappearing on my end.

If I click to read if there is something else it is empty. Do you use the computer? I think there are functions that are in one place and not in the other. For example, in the app I can't respond directly to the person I want to talk to, but on the computer I can. Maybe it has something to do with it.

From the moment Lucy met her husband's mother, Diana, she was kept at arm's length. Diana was exquisitely polite, and properly friendly, but Lucy knew that she was not what Diana envisioned. But who could fault Diana? She was a pillar of the community, an advocate for social justice who helped female refugees assimilate to their new country. Diana was happily married to Tom, and lived in wedded bliss for decades. Lucy wanted so much to please her new mother-in-law.
That was five years ago.
Now, Diana has been found dead, a suicide note near her body. Diana claims that she no longer wanted to live because of a battle with cancer.
But the autopsy finds no cancer.
The autopsy does find traces of poison and suffocation.
Who could possibly want Diana dead?
Why was her will changed at the eleventh hour to disinherit both of her adult children and their spouses?
With Lucy's secrets getting deeper and her relationship with her mother-in-law growing more complex as the pages turn, this new novel from Sally Hepworth is sure to add to her growing legion of fans.
