July 2022 - Skinwrapper by and with Stephen Kozeniewski

I just downloaded Skinwrapper.
Looking forward to reading it."
Thanks much, Eddie. Hope you enjoy it!

If anyone is trying to use their phone, for some reason the link doesn't appear. Once I logged onto goodreads using my laptop, it was easy to find and download to my eReader.

To be honest, the GR app is lacking a lot of features and functionality.

Hi Terry. Great question! Well, like you said, the real world answer is that the Italian-language publisher of THE HEMATOPHAGES asked me for a novella for marketing purposes. Skinwrappers are my idea of a SF incarnation of a mummy, much like the hematophages are SF vampires in their book. From there I was interested in the idea of why everyone, no matter how experienced and even jaded, is so terrified of the skinwrappers. What could they possible do to their enemies to inspire such universal dread? And finally I hit upon the idea of examining that fear in its purest environment, a coffin, essentially, in the form of the cryogenic pod, where the little girl is trapped with nothing to distract her but her anxieties and fears. And that is how the novella evolved from a marketing suggestion to a fully fleshed out (ha!) concept.

Yeah, I'm good with August. It can help fill our sad hearts from finishing Lily.

August it is! If anyone else wants to join us for a buddy read of The Hematophages during the month of August, it's on!

Hi, Terry! Great question. This will come as little surprise, but I'm a big fan of horror and sci-fi. There are a ton of recommendations I could make, but lately I've been preaching the gospel of the criminally underread Somer Canon. Her latest is the hellaciously good You're Mine.

Hi..."
I know that the late Dave Thomas loved THE EXPANSE TV show. Have you read those books or seen the show? Because both are freaking amazing!

I'd be delighted, Char! I'll even answer "the" question if somebody asks it. (Don't worry. Somebody *always* asks it.) :)

If the moon were made of cheese, would you take a bite out of it?
