Yes, I knew that. I also heard some mixed stories though. Lots of confusion about it.

message 52: by [deleted user] (new)

Just here to say that after 50 years or so, 15 million or so babies have been aborted. After 50 years. Ain't that wild? Now that Roe V Wade is overturned, more babies can see the light of day and experience life.
Not here for debate. Just adding in something I found crazy.

Abby | 443 comments And how many of those children if they made it to birth and the mother didn’t decide to terminate her pregnancy would have had a crapy life or at least a crapy childhood?

message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

Crappy, like what? And it's not the child's fault if they got a bad childhood.

message 55: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments Crappy because the parents don’t have the resources to care for a baby, the baby has some illness or disease that lowers there life quality of life and/or the parents don’t have the money to pay for the treatments, the mother could die during the birth and the child has to grow up motherless, the child could get placed in the system, the child could not make it to birth, the mother could not make it to birth

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

You think a child with problems doesn’t deserve life?

message 57: by [deleted user] (new)

Didn't I just say I wasn't here for debate? I'm no great debater, but I'll try?

Life happens. In most of those cases, it's out of the parents and child's control. That doesn't mean the best option is to abort (certainly not the best option for the baby), nor the parents should give up. The parents can also get help from donations or find a better job, so it isn't all too bad.

Abby | 443 comments An abortion is not killing. If a fetus is aborted it doesn’t know about it. Abortions should always be a choice for the pregnant person.

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

A fetus can feel pain very early. It knows it’s getting ripped apart.

message 62: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments If the pregnant person doesn’t want or consent to being pregnant and having their body used to hold a life and keep it alive they shouldn’t have to. Also a fetus doesn’t doesn’t begin to get a consciousness till 28 weeks.

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

Most people who get pregnant consent to sex, which leads to pregnancy. Example: A drunk driver consents to drinking

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

Abby wrote: "An abortion is not killing. If a fetus is aborted it doesn’t know about it. Abortions should always be a choice for the pregnant person."

Its not murder if the feetus doesnt know about it? So, a woman shoots a man in the head in his sleep, so it isnt murder.

message 65: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments So if someone impregnates someone they should have to start paying for the pregnancy as well as the child. And just because you have sex doesn’t mean that you are ready to have a child or you should be forced to have a child. And what if it was non consensual sex then the impregnated person didn’t consent to it and they still should get an opportunity to have an abortion.

message 66: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments A fetus isn’t a being it can not live on its own.

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

I completely agree that the father should help pay.

I’m surprised you didn’t bring out the rape issue earlier. But the kid shouldn’t be punished for the rapist’s crimes.

What about people who live off of ventilator.

message 68: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments Abortion is not a punishment. And I don’t understand the ventilator question

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

Isn’t the death penalty punishment?

I sorry, I’m using my phone and it makes things difficult. You said that a fetus isn’t a being because it can’t live on it’s own. But people on ventilators cannot live on their own, so does that mean their life isn’t worth anything?

message 70: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments People on ventilators families decided wether or not to keep them on the ventilator. And I do not agree with the death penalty so yes it is still used as punishment in some places but I do not think it should be.

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

People on ventilators families decided wether or not to keep them on the ventilator.

But does that make that life any less? Should they pull the plug on a 25 year old? A 15 year old? A 5 year old? A baby still in the womb?

And I do
not agree with the death penalty
so yes it is still used as
punishment in some places but I do not think it should be.

But the death penalty is the same as abortion. The end result is murder. (For the record, I think the death penalty should be allowed in very rare instances where it will save more lives than it kills)

message 72: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments If they can’t live on there own they aren’t really alive. And if someone is on the ventilator and they don’t have a decent chance to survive without it pulling the plug isn’t a horrible thing. A child in a womb it affects more than just the “ child” so yes if the pregnant person wants to pull the plug on the fetus than yes it should be allowed as a right.

message 73: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments Yes a “child” in the womb is a step away from living as in not yet living the pregnant person should have the right to do what they want with their body because they are living already and the decision is life changing to their life that they already have.

message 74: by [deleted user] (new)

“The child could not make it to birth”

“hold a life and keep it
alive they shouldn't have to.”

“pregnant person wants to pull
the plug on the fetus”

You sound as though you do realize a baby in the womb is still a human being.

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

Their decision is life changing to them, their child, and the descendants of that child they carry.

message 76: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments I didn’t mean it to come across that way I was just trying to match your terminology

message 77: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments That is why I put child in quotations

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

You never put child in quotations.

message 79: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments Yes I did.

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

No. I copied and pasted exactly what you said.

message 81: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments I can assure you that I did maybe I just forgot in the specific things that you speaking of but I didn’t mean for it to sound as though I was saying the “ child “ is already a living thing and deserves the rights to the pregnant person’s body while it is in the womb.

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

But does that baby deserve the right to life?

message 83: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments If it has been birthed yes. But if it if still a fetus than the pregnant person should have the right to do what that want with their body.

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

But it isn’t their body. At ten weeks the baby has perfectly visible toes and fingers.

message 85: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments But it is using the pregnant person’s body and that person should the rights to their own body.

message 86: by [deleted user] (new)

That woman had the rights to her body when she had sex, but when she becomes pregnant she’s no longer just affecting herself. That baby deserves life as much as the mother does.

message 87: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments The pregnancy is both sexual partners responsibility wether or not their in a relationship. and when someone becomes pregnant it mainly affects them as in it is still their body even if they are impregnated the fetus doesn’t have a life and can only survive if they have a host body.

If the pregnant person’s health is at risk if they go through with the pregnancy are you still against aborting the fetus?

message 88: by [deleted user] (new)

The mother’s body is hers, the body’s body is it’s.

If the mother is at risk then an abortion is understandable. I still don’t think it’s okay, but it should be allowed.

message 89: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments If your life is at risk you are going to die and the only thing you can do to eliminate that risk is illegal how would that make you feel?

If you just went through the most traumatic experience of your life and you find out that you have to carry a reminder of it with you and every time you see or think of it you are reliving that experience how would that make you feel?

If some random people decide to take away your rights to your body how would that make you feel?

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

Abortion should be allowed when the mother is at risk.

There’s this thing called “adoption.”

Oh, people have tried. With the vaccine.

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

But A baby is a human being. You can’t murder a person.

message 92: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments And if you believe so strongly about abortions do you believe in gun control because you guys in the US have had many school shootings this year and living breathing children have lost their lives.

message 93: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments Vaccines don’t take the rights to your body away they keep you and others from DYING!

Do you know how traumatic it is to carry a fetus to term just so they are taking away from you it mentally and physically traumatic.

You said that on some situation the death penalty should be allowed that is murder of an actual living person not just a clump of cells.

message 94: by [deleted user] (new)

I’m all for guns. Lots of the people who are the cause of school shootings specifically choose schools with gun control because they know that adults won’t have the weapons to fight back.

message 95: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments So you’re for killing children

message 96: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments And you just want to control women

message 97: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments They said they are for guns and school shooters chose to go to school that don’t have guns ( side note having to have a gun a school to feel safe is crap you guys in the US are messed up) so the kids and adults don’t have protection. Saying that sounds like they were saying it doesn’t matter if kids die at least we have our guns and since they are against abortion for the reason that kids should get a chance and yet they say whatever to school shootings it sounds like they are against kids lives and reproductive rights.

:)

message 99: by [deleted user] (new)

No. I’m for regular citizens having the ability to fight back. Just because you instill gun control doesn’t mean the criminals will decide to obey the law.

Why would I want to control women?

I am so confused by your rant. Please explain when you’ve calmed down a bit.

message 100: by Abby (new)

Abby | 443 comments The way that I see it is that you say every child deserves a chance but you also say that guns are good the guns are being used to kill children so in my eyes you are saying every child deserves a chance only when women are being affected.
