Romance-a woman wakes up on a park bench with no memory-her husband claims her (I think from the police station) but she doesn't know him. I believe he is from a wealthy family. It might have been set in a desert town in Arizona or Texas. He takes her home and expects her to just start living with him even though she doesn't know him. She doesn't like him much. Contemporary fiction read approx. between 1970-1980.

I finally remembered the husband's name (Michael) and when I added that to my google search I found the book. It's "Michael's Wife" by Marlys Millhiser. It's described as a modern twist on a Gothic classic. It was published in 1972.
