I am starting this book today sometime. I was just too tired last night to read. But Graham Masterton - here I come! lol

Finished and really had a blast with this one!

I'm almost halfway through and I'm now really invested in the mystery especially (view spoiler)[the extraplanar geometry of the roof! Though to me it seems a bit contrived for him to find the exact National Geographic issue that supports his theories right at the start, I do think it's an interesting and unusual way to introduce the idea of time/dimension-traveling and to support David's feelings of something being not quite right with the house itself. I'm finding that I'm less and less sympathetic towards David, though. It seems to me like (view spoiler)[he resisted the relationship with Liz at first (and Sally IMO you're totally spot-on about the suddenness of their relationship being creepy) but now he's just leaning into it and talking like he wants to marry this woman and have her become Danny's mother. Furthermore, even though the age difference wouldn't be so much of a problem [were she in her 20s or beyond], she is still almost a child and regardless of the fact that he doesn't have any "real" power over her (ie he's not her professor, or a police officer, or her guardian, etc) he does still have the tacit power of being an older man. (hide spoiler)] Finally, I thought it was unsettling the way (view spoiler)[no one seemed to really care about the death of Harry Martin. And what a gruesome death it was! (hide spoiler)]

In other words, I finding that I'm less and less invested in the characters, and they seem rather one-dimensional to me. I'm hooked on the mystery, though, and the creature that is lurking in Fortyfoot House has definitely snared my attention! I'm burning to know the House's secrets...

I am about 9% into the story and when I get more involved in the book I will be posting some thoughts on here. I am not reading any spoilers on here either. :)

I can say chapter 6 was not what I expected. But I definately like that better than comparing women's breasts or complaining about how women want to be equal, but then never do hard stuff...
