Marcus wrote: "Where’s the mention of veganism? Can see no other mention of other animals at all, it certainly isn’t an explicitly stated part within this anthropocentric criteria of “intersectionality.”"
hi Marcus! not every book VBC reads is directly related to veganism, but, because veganism + environmentalism go hand-in-hand, we thought this would be an interesting read! in fact, if it doesn't mention veganism/diet change at all, that's a great discussion point and something to analyze/criticize since we do read through a vegan lens here.

Apologies for the delay in sharing this (busy with work + was sick for a little bit so time got away from me)
But here's what we're reading this month:
The Intersectional Environmentalist: How to Dismantle Systems of Oppression to Protect People + Planet by Leah Thomas!
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
This book is an introduction to the intersection between environmentalism, racism, and privilege, and an acknowledgment of the fundamental truth that we cannot save the planet without uplifting the voices of its people - especially those most often unheard.
Because it's midway through the month and this book is short (only 5 chapters), our discussion schedule will be less robust. We'll post a general discussion thread on Wednesday, June 22 and then discussion questions on Wednesday, June 29!
