A few years ago I stumbled upon a novel that was set in the U.S. long after a catastrophic event had caused the country to revert to a primitive state. A boy that lived in an Amish-style community had heard tales of areas to the west that had amazing technology and cities, and decided to try and journey there. I cannot recall the name, but I remember the cover being light in color and having a black-and-white illustration of members of the community in Amish clothing.
