Kim is mentally and emotionally in a dark place following her brutal beating and near death at the hands of Symes. Her mother also died while she was in a coma. Who or what does she need?

She needs Ted first to help her. I suspect that her emotional state will help Ted get information from her that she didn't allow him to know in the past. It felt like she came to terms with her mother's death and not forgiving her. Leeanne gave her good advice.

Secondly, she needs Bryant to help her get her head back in the right frame of mind for her crime fighting.

I think you’ve nailed it, Sharon. This is the time to open up to Ted and I think Kim will, especially now that her mother is dead. Leanne gave her great counsel about that.

I think she needs Bryant as a friend for now.

Good points. Again, it was completely in character for Kim not to forgive her mother. Maybe now she has passed she can move forward in some ways, not forgiving but acceptance. And start to let some more people in.

I agree with you all, but I also think we are going to see more of a deterioration of Kim's emotions and mental state before any of the things you mentioned will happen.
