I've read about half of the essays from the Federalist Papers. The first part of the Anti-Federalist Papers is the Constitutional Convention debates as recorded in Madison's notes, so that part is complete though terse.I've posted elsewhere that we need both Jefferson and Madison to be who we can be as a nation. It's just depressing to see people clamoring for the elimination of safeguards which were thoroughly deliberated.

Bottomline - Censorship doesn't work - it just makes it all bigger.

very true. you try to silence somebody, very likely that many more will speak out
My view is if someone makes wild accusations against you, your best option is to ignore it, unless it contained statements that are clearly false. The point is, if ignored, there is only so long they can keep talking to themselves. It won't always work, but you can always do something else later, and you can never ignore it after you have responded,

Graeme, I clicked on your link. There was supposed to be access to the entire interview there, but I couldn't access Rogan's interview with Trump. I just finished listening on Spotify, so it's still there. You can get it for free with ads. People have gotten wise to censorship and will do what it takes to find what they want to watch. And they're probably pissed that they're being blocked because of political machinations. Liberals aren't doing themselves any favors - just exposing themselves as too weak to deal with criticism, thus censoring opposing views. In the land of the free, this doesn't bode well for them. I'll be listening to the Vance interview next.
Amusing that you say this, Ian: "The point is, if ignored, there is only so long they can keep talking to themselves."
The Joe Rogan interview was a very interesting choice for Trump because Rogan is not a Trump guy. Trump must be feeling very good about his chances because this is a bold move that reaches 23 million followers.
Rogan was a Bernie supporter, so it took a lot of Democrat bs for him to decide to interview Trump. Just shows you how bad things have gotten the last 4 years.
Scout wrote: "Rogan was a Bernie supporter, so it took a lot of Democrat bs for him to decide to interview Trump. I agree. I think Trump has been so vilified by liberals because they're afraid if people actually get to know him, they'll see he's not evil. They're against hate speech, but liberals compare him to Hitler, say he's a fascist who will destroy democracy, say his supporters are deplorable, unredeemable, garbage. That sounds like hate speech.

If you add in Spotify and X, Trump has reached a significant portion of the electorate with a three hour conversation. Perot wished he could've bought that back in 1992. Trump got it for free.

Mark my words, watch Fetterman. He is going to be a power player in the future and I would not be surprised if he tries for the big prize.

That was interesting. He is of course right. They have to report the news.

I found the reaction of the other two "journalists" to be the interesting part. They were called out on their partisan BS, to their faces. And they weren't even embarrassed.

This wasn't a one off event. Government overreach is constant.
I agree that government overreach is constant. I started listening to the JRE interview with Elon while I was waiting in line to pick up my grandson, and it was clear that there was government overreach with Twitter. Very interesting interview so far - and logical, which is very refreshing. I'm so tired of the last 4 years of nonsense by the party in power. Elon thinks that if a Democrat is elected, they will come after X and put it out of business using the Justice Department. This seems reasonable, since they've already gone after Spacex. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justic...Democrats go after anyone with power who disagrees with them. Look at what they've tried to do to Trump. Talk about destroying Democracy. Has anyone noticed that Democrats accuse Republicans of things they are doing themselves?

My Black next-door neighbor and good friend of 25 years has been a staunch Democrat, yet we've been able to maintain our friendship because we listen to each other and agree to disagree. Yesterday, she surprised me by saying that it's time to deport illegal immigrants. Over the last 4 years, I've voiced my opinions on this topic, and this is the first time she's agreed with me. She voted for Kamala, but she now sees the economic effects of allowing millions of illegal immigrants into the country, as well as the threats they pose to security. I'm encouraged by this.

Papaphilly wrote: "Amazing! How did you know?"As much as they hate the comparison, the Millennials and Gen z are more like the Baby Boomers than anyone else. To predict their behavior I just ask myself if they've switched from weed to coke yet.
My main conclusion from these elections is that they were regular. Lots of shitslinging, "end of the world" hyperbole and lots of conspiracy theories none of which turned true
Biden invited Trump to the White House for a meeting. Thought you might want to see how Biden welcomed Trump after he was compared to Hitler and called an existential threat to Democracy. Biden has looked really happy since Trump won, I think because his party betrayed him and forced him to withdraw from the election. I'd say he feels vindicated after Kamala lost.https://www.foxnews.com/video/6364656...

Have you or are you going to read The Federalist Papers? One cannot be done without the other because you will miss half of the argument. What I have found truly intriguing is how the combination of both ended up in our system and one cannot exist without the other.
