we'll see if I get the book in time from the library
I can't wait. This book is massive...

If I like it, I'll be getting the next book in the series. But they're all hella huge.

Do you have a mass market copy or a regular copy?

I have the mass market copy. I wasn't sure if I was going to really enjoy the book or not so I bought the cheapest version of it.

Since I love the show so much I went ahead and got the regular books used. I think most people get mass market cause there's so many of them. I think the series is still on going isn't?
I think it is. I loved the show so far too, even though I'm barely finishing the first season. But you know how sometimes the tv show is better? Or vice versa??? Since I saw the tv show first, I wasn't sure I'd like the book as much since I have heard both good or bad things. I know that if I end up liking the book as much then I'll probably look for the regular book versions of them all and donate my mass market copy to my local bookstore.

I'm planning to start this book tonight. :)

but I"m going to be going REALLY slow...like just a chapter or two a day.....maybe 5 chapters.....
are you guys flying through?

as soon as I get it, I'll start!

I'm flexible since I own it, so whatever works for you Trisha. I know you read a lot and plan ahead so I'm sure you have a busy schedule. :)

I really want to read this!
Let me see how quickly I can get through Bleak House (another 1000+ page book) and then I'll be ready to start! if you guys want to start early, I can jump in as soon as I'm done with the one above.....
I'm pretty open! I just know I'd like to read the book with you guys!! :)
Once I get the book again, would it help you guys for me to write up a reading schedule (maybe a chapter or 2 a day, depending on how long they are?) Then we know when to come back and chat??

I think I'd rather just wait til everyone is ready. I'm not in a rush and I think this will be good book to talk about with everyone. Unless you want us to go ahead and start?
I can do a schedule like that or something. Whatever would work best for the both of you. :)

So, I'm #6 in line and there are 12 books total
it should just be a week or so and I'll have the book (or I'll buy it if I see it!)
Yeah, Cheyenne, if you have your copy already, do you want to do a schedule?? I'm good with whatever you pick!

Sure. Christina thinks a schedule would be good too so we'll just need to set it! I'll go along with whatever.
Lol, we're all saying we're fine with what the other person wants.

I can't wait to start!
are you guys all watching the show?? I haven't seen it yet so I'm curious if you guys have or have not ;)

I love the show! The new season just started last Sunday I think. I haven't seen the new episode yet though.

I'll go pick it up and then post a schedule
you guys still up for reading it???

Possible Schedule: Starting the book 5/5
Day 1: Prologue thru Eddard (about 50 pages)
Day 2: Jon - Jon (about 100 pages)
Day 3: Daenerys - Sansa (150 pages)
Day 4: Eddard - Eddard (200 pages)
Day 5: Tyrion - Bran (250 pages)
Day 6: Eddard - Sansa (300 pages)
Day 7: Eddard - Arya (350 pages)
Day 8: Eddard - Daenerys (400 pages)
Day 9: Bran - Jon (450 pages)
Day 10 Trion - Daenerys (500 pages)
Day 11 Eddard - Sansa (550 pages)
Day 12 Jon - Catelyn (600 pages)
Day 13 Tyrion - Catelyn (650 pages)
Day 14 Jon - Catelyn (700 pages)
Day 15 Daenerys - Sansa (740 pages)
Day 16 Daenerys - to end

since there aren't actual chapter numbers AND The chapters have same names all through-out is this schedule going to work???

@Trisha - I don't think it'll be any different than a book with different chapter titles. It makes sense to me to use the character's name instead of titles given how many chapter/characters are in it.
We also have a guideline (thanks btw!) to help keep track.

So, just a general guide is it should be about 50 pages per day will take us about 16 days to completed it!
We ready to start today!! i'm so excited!! I'll finish a few up today and then start Day 1 tonight!

30 pages and that's how many characters are introduced. Crazy right??
I figured we can check in each day after our 50. I'm sure there will be stuff to chat about. I didn't quite make it to 50 last night because I was honestly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people the author throws at you!
I'll definitely read more today

It's overwhelming at the start with all the characters that are introduced, but I promise that it gets easier as the book progresses.

I was hoping so. :) phew! so glad it gets easier!
