Welcome to the Four Aunties and a Wedding Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on June 8th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each day we will be reading by chapters or page numbers. Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

Oh my god I completely forgot about this, I'm so sorry! I started it but totally forgot to send my updates, will send them when I get home tonight :)

Chapter 1-4:(view spoiler)[Oh my god I love the aunties so damn much they're so hilarious. My mum is Indonesian and although she isn't exactly like the aunties personality wise, I can definitely see the resemblance in the mixed up grammar aha, really feels familiar, the author captured that real good. Love that Meddy can also relate to Staphanie in pretty much everything about her family. Big Aunt's accent had me cackling, can't WAIT to see how the aunts are gonna react to seeing Nathan's parents, I have a feeling it's gonna be amazing in a funny way. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5-9: (view spoiler)[Oh noo that parent meeting didn't go exactly well, poor Meddy and Nathan. And the family being the mafia? So much dramaaa. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 10-14: (view spoiler)[Things are not exactly going so well and I'm sitting on the edge of my chair, constantly flipping the pages. Poor poor Meddy, her whole wedding is a huge mess. The makeup, the photography! And the aunts + Ma tied Second Uncle up, he kinda deserved it if that's what he really said to Meddy's mum. The suspense is literally killing me (pum-intended?), I'm waiting for that moment where everything is turns out to be all fine and good. Let the wedding begin! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 15-19: (view spoiler)[They're officially married now! although I'm kinda eyeing Staphanie at that scene when she put her arm in Nathan's, kinda sus there. Nathan's parents better not prefer Staphanie over Meddy, I have a feeling they really don't agree to their wedding. Every single time the aunts come into play I can't stop myself from laughing, they're just amazing. Second Uncle thinks Meddy's family is the mafia? What is going on here? I can't stop reading it, it's soo addictive lol. (hide spoiler)]

So I finished this last night and I love the amount of drama and chaos, even though Meddy and Nathan's wedding didn't go exactly as how they expected, I'm glad they ended up on good terms after all the dilemma. I would definitely read another adventure with them no doubts, the author is amazing with her sense of humour and Ma + the aunts are the best support characters I've ever read!
