Question about The No-Show

We find out that Joseph misses his Valentine’s Day dates with Miranda and Jane because he’s been drinking. But what about that first Valentine’s Day date with Siobhan? Why did he miss that date? Was it really just as he told her? He was only late and by the time he got there, she had already left?

I think that Joseph's excuse about being late and Siobhan having already left is true. We get to see throughout the book that he really is not good at being punctual so I think this one was definitely the truth!
