I was originally planning to use this for "memoir or biobraphy", but unexpectedly, when I started it, this turned out to be a collection of essays on writing.

From the Introduction: "Throughout that heinous year (2020), I was also writing the essays in this book, which explain how you can use creative writing to survive the worst things history can throw at you...With the essays in this book, I was reminding myself, as much as anyone else, that writing can be an act of self-preservation.
