One Point Tasks

1.1 BOX OF CRAYONS

1.2 SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK
I loved going to "Shakespeare in the Park" and watching the yearly plays.
Read a book by Shakespeare -or- Shakespeare is a character in a book -or - a Retelling of one of his play (tell which play).


1.3 (Diana S's Task) CHILDREN CLASSIC: Little House in the Big Woods
The first time I read this book I was an adult, reading it to my daughter. It became a favorite in our family. When my daughter was old enough to read, she started to read this book to my grandmother and that's when we started to hear her say, "Oh, I did that", "I remember my mother doing that", "Yes that how you prepare a pig". The book became alive and we were enriched with many family stories we had never her before. Now my daughter reads this book to her children and shares the stories her great-grandmother would tell her.

Read one of her books.

1.5 (Marianne's Task) MC FISH MARKET
Our "SPECIAL" of the month is CRAB

Choose ONE of the following:
a. Crabs walk Sideways.
Read a book Author's initials (FIRST & LAST) are in the word SIDEWAYS.
b. Crabs are delicious and when they are cooked their shells turn RED.
Read a book with a RED cover (70%+) - show cover.
c. CRAB (Cancer) is a summer and water sign in the Zodiac.
Read a book with the word Summer in the title -or- a body of salt water on the cover. (show cover).

1.7 (Amber's Task) NATIONAL ICE TEA MONTH
Growing up and living in the South sweet tea is a staple. I love sweet tea and I forget sometimes when I travel, I’m not likely to be able to order sweet tea at restaurants if I am outside of the traditional Southern region.

Read a book set in the South or where someone travels

Read a book with the genre PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER listed on its Main Page.

1.9 (Marilyn's Task) The Reading Jar: A JUNE BIRTHDAY
One of my favorite authors is Louise Erdrich who was born in June.
Read a book by Louise Erdrich OR read a book that features characters who are Native American.

2.3 (Linda C's Task) NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION RECOMMITTMENT DAY – June 1
Read 2 books

If you made a New Year's resolution and want to use that, please do. Otherwise make up 2 resolutions now and read a book connected to that task. (e.g. I am going to exercise more – then read a book where MC does some form of exercise – jogs, swims, bikes, etc OR I am going to paint my bedroom – then read a book where MC does a DIY project) Be creative, just be sure to state each resolution and how the book fits it.

2.4 (The Adventures's Task) GREAT OUTDOORS MONTH
Read 2 books

1. Read a fiction where nature/outdoors adventure plays an important part

2. Read a non-fiction about nature/outdoors adventure

2.5 (Amber's Task) WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY (Happiest Place on Earth)

I am going to Disney World with my closest friend and her daughter in a few weeks. I am pretty excited because I have been to Disney several times as an adult but never with a child. I think it’s going to be so much fun to see things through her eyes.

1. Read a book that makes you happy, your choice

I have known my closest friend since we were in the 8th grade. Totally giving away my age but we have known each other over 30 years. So hard to imagine that it’s been that long.

2. Read a book published in 1989 (the year she and I met) or with an 8 in the page count
