The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn
Format: Book, CD, and e-audiobook forms.

I picked this book up because I liked one of her other books and wanted to read her new one. This book is great because it's a true story about a young woman named Mila Pavlichenko who worked at a library as a research librarian in Kiev. She became the world's most famous sniper during the war with over 300 kills to her record. She was also a friend to Eleanor Roosevelt. This national heroine's story seems unlikely that a small demure woman can become such a critical piece of war history, but she is. I listened to this story and the narrator is just amazing but the book version has pictures and images from her time in the war. There are several pages of recommending reading. YouTube links are also included to see some of Mila's speeches during a goodwill tour in America. Truth really is stranger than fiction.

The Wives by Tarryn Fisher The Wives by Tarryn Fisher
Formats: Book and e-audiobook
I picked this book up because someone recommended this one on out Get Caught Reading month. It's been on my TBR pile for a while, so I decided to pick it up and read it. This book is great because about 1/3 of the way into this book, a huge plot twist was thrown at you that you were not expecting. If you like psychological thrillers, suspenseful action and intricately plotted books you will like this one. It's fast paced and a page turner.

The Rocky Road to Ruin (Ice Cream Shop Mystery,#1) by Meri Allen The Rocky Road to Ruin by Meri Allen
Formats: Book, e-book, and e-audio.

I liked this book because it was funny and cozy. For me, I had guessed the wrong person 3 times before the killer was found out. I actually did not expect this person. If you like cozy mysteries and women amateur detectives you will definitely like this book. Similar books I have read are Flipped for Murder by Maddie Day. It's bakery typed books mixed with a little coziness and women murder detectives.

The Jazz Files (Poppy Denby Investigates #1) by Fiona Veitch Smith The Jazz Files by Fiona Veitch Smith
Formats: e-audio.

I picked this book up because it met the requirements for a previous Readers Club Monthly Reading Challenge. This book is great because it has unique cast of characters set in a exciting period of history including the women's suffrage movement. People who like the jazz era and strong female leads will like this book. Other books I've read that are similar are Murder at Brightwell by Ashley Weaver and Murder at Archly Manor by Sara Rosett.

Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill
Formats: Book and e-audio.

I picked this up because this is something I usually like to read and it caught my eye when shelving books one day. This book is great because it has vampires and other supernatural creatures. It's a decent read for fantasy lovers, drama and a struggle with a change in your life. This is the first in a series. People who like supernatural fantasy with snarky remarks and laugh-out-loud jokes you will like this book. If you like Kim Harrison books, you should definitely pick this one up. Sookie Stackhouse series is also similar to this one.

Star Trek by Alan Dean Foster Star Trek by Alan Dean Foster
Formats: Book and e-audio.
I picked this one up because I enjoyed the movie. This is the movie tie-in book. This book is great because it's exactly like the movie. If you have watched the movie, which is the one with Chris Pine, then you will enjoy this book. Only difference between this and the movie, you will know what is exactly going through the heads of most of the characters. People who like science fiction and any of the Star Trek movies or TV shows.
