This is the Pre-Read thread for the July 2022 Modern/Popular selection. This month we will be reading The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera.

Who's planning to join in on this read? Why did you choose this book? Any expectations?

I am planning on reading. I debated it because it isn't a book I'd normally read. However, I read through reviews and it went both good and bad, so I want to read and decide for myself.

Same. I wouldn't have chosen to read this by myself even though it was in my TBR for so long. Have you started reading already?

It’s been on my shelf for awhile too, happy the July prompt will get me reading it (hopefully!)

I am planning to start read it today anyone wants to buddy read or group read with chapter wise schedule?

Finished it yesterday. I enjoyed it much more than I expected. It wasn't as mysterious and full of wacky symbolism as I thought.

this is definitely not something I thought I would enjoy but to my surprise I did. Give this book a chance, you may actually like it.

Struggling to get into this book- about 100 pages in and not sure I want to keep reading. I could use some encouragement from those who enjoyed/are enjoying it……..
