Michael decides to take matters into his own hands and leaves a tip with Brad who later figures out it was him. They were in way over their heads when Sean and Brad figure things out, calling in Kane to help. Michael had rather strong reasons for not involving them. Do you think they got through to him, impressing upon him that they consider him family and Kane defining what team was going to mean in the Marines?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments They were way over their heads. There was no way they were going to get Brian out of this mess without adult help. Michael had handled things for this group of boys and did it alone. Asking for help was difficult for him. He had never had anyone to help him before. I think they got through to him.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I'm not sure that it soaked in completely, but I do think Michael will ask for help sooner in the future. It surprised me that Michael didn't confide in Sean. I know he worried that Jesse was Sean's focus now, but Sean always responded to the boys.

I was surprised that all the boys put Kane above Sean. I thought they were more equal in their eyes.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I don't know that Michael is in 100 percent or if he is just agreeing to get the guys off his back. I hope he doesn't think he can take on gangs by himself and not involve adults. You know it's going to happen again in the future.

Boy, were they in way over their heads! Michael thinks he has nothing to lose, at least less than everyone else. It saddened me that he wouldn’t go back to the foster family he loved because he thought he was protecting them. Maybe he’s got a shot now at reestablishing that relationship. I do think Kane got to him by using the Marines as an illustration. He’s not 100% there but his head is now in the right place.

I was surprised at how they made distinctions between Sean and Kane, too. But, I loved how Kane explained it so simply. It made sense. To them, Kane is like a superhero figure.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments Jonetta, it had always bothered me that Michael didn't go back to his foster home, especially since they had planned to adopt him before he disappeared. I'm glad we were finally told the reason he hadn't returned to them. He thought he was protecting them and he was probably right in some aspects. I hope he can at least return to visiting them.

It bothered me, too, both for him and them. Fingers crossed 🤞
