The new characters are interesting, there really have been no other women except Vin until now. And Shan. While the male cast is sometimes blending in, the girls are all unique, especially Tindwyl is to my likings.
I am intrigued by the political situation, which is not at all dull, with two armies marching towards your gates.
And of course I am passionately hating Straff and I can't wait to see how Zane decides to act.

Tindwyl is a character I just didn't know what to make of to begin with but as the story went on I did like her. The way she acts and speaks is just amusing and entertaining for sure!

Gld you are still really loving this! Do you have any theories so far?

This book is definitely heavy on the politics, and I do think it is a little bit more of a slow burn compared to the first one. A lot of aspects of the world building are revealed to us though, and figuring that stuff out is really fun! I also agree with you about it being refreshing to see more female characters. I think Vin is great and all, but we need more lady power!

Zane's God voice was almost funny with its single-minded predictability.
I am liking Tindwyl more than Allrianne at the moment, but I did like the effect that Allrianne's presence has on "Breezy".

I can't wait to read how Zane's character is going to develop. At some points, he seems like he's on her side but the doubt he's creating in Vin's mind I don't like. At all.

It seems as though there are just more and more questions and mysteries being added to this book. Who is the kandra impersonating? What are the pulses coming from the north? I think it's probably the Well of Ascension. And how will the greater problem of the two soon the be three armies at the city walls? I can't wait to continue!

This section was a bit politicky (is that a word?) for me. I am not a huge fan of Zane. Maybe it's because I keep picturing him as Billy Zane? I'm hoping we get to see Vin beat him up, and soon.
Overall, I'm still really enjoying this though. Can't wait to see how it all plays out.

I'm really getting back into the flow of things again. It seems it always takes one part for me to really get rolling in the world.
I'm loving Tindwyl and OreSeur, they are super impressive in the sass department. I'm also super excited that Sazed is back, hopefully he will keep Vin from freaking out too badly with all of Zane's manipulations.
Finally hearing Zane's point of view was a bit of an eye opener. He is crazier than a bag full of cats! I'm worried about what he's going to end up dragging Vin into.
Allrianne is totally a spy, and if she's not I'll eat my own socks.
Two questions I have, where's Marsh? And which one of them is the spy? So confused and so many questions.

I actually really enjoy all the politics stuff and the world-building that comes along with it. The whole scene with Elend and his father was awesome.
I loved the introduction of Zane and Tindwyl. The whole thing with Zane making Vin unsure about Elend is really worrying and I'm wondering if Zane might start developing deeper feelings towards Vin?

Agreed. And where is Marsh? I must know!

Wow Zane what a character. At first I thought he was going to be a bit cheesy playing the third wheel in a bit of a love triangle, but adding the element of crazy to the character made me really like him. I feel that perhaps this voice could be more though. (maybe even something to do with this whole cosmere thingy? )
I really want to get to this Well as well! Whats going on there? What happened all those years ago? Cant wait to find out

Yes to all of this! Zane is getting on my nerves! Or rather, the way Vin is allowing him to affect her is getting on my nerves! Wake up Vin, my love, he is manipulating you!

It rubbed me the wrong way though the whole "Vin isn't like other girls" idea...
How are feeling about this book so far? Was it what you were expecting? How do you feel about the characters right now?
