Books about: Novel or series featuring a pair of characters with a strong platonic relationship.

Preference for "found family" relationships, or characters who are partners in their work (e.g. a pair of detectives), especially if the characters start out hating or being irked by each other. If possible, I would love some recommendations from mystery, thriller, suspense, or spy novels. Anything with some good tense and dangerous scenes.

I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but "found family" and strong bonds and relationships abound in the compelling, but very dark, Armand Gamache detective series by Louise Penny.

In the books often the focus is more on the personal lives and relationships of the characters than on the mystery case itself.
