I think it was a glitch that we were able to the see our 2022 Year in Books for a day or so. It seems early for them to roll that out. I'm pretty sure it isn't usually available until sometime in December.

Wow I never knew you could access it through the year... I always just waited for the announcement that it was ready in December.

But now I see that has changed again, and 2022 is not available. Weird.
I’m not sure where you are looking. I always use the challenge, which shows how many books I’ve read and links to all the covers. I didn’t think you could get the info like total pages, most popular, etc. till end of year.

On your own My Books page, down the left side there is "Your reading activity" The fourth one down says " Year in Books"

For me "nursing" time became reading time once I had 2/3 children. All 3 of my children were born within just less than 5 years, so we would all sit and read while the baby at the time nursed. So I did a lot of reading, but nothing even close to adult literature! LOL

thank you . it worked for me!

Does anyone have any tips for how you go through your TBR and match books on your list to the prompts? I started out taking each book and going down the whole list of prompts and seeing which fit, but there are 221 books on my "fit into future challenges" list (which is just my TBR for stuff I want to try to read next year) and I kind of burned out doing it that way.

Does anyon..."
If you go to the listopias for the various prompts, the lists will show if the books are already on your TBR (or any exclusive shelf you have). Just keep in mind that some people are more flexible with how they interpret prompts than others, so just because a book is on the list, you might not think it counts. And while a few people write notes about why they added/voted for a book, most don't.

Brilliant, thank you! You have totally changed my life.
I find that info by scrolling and seeing which books have "Want to Read" next to them, correct? I don't see a place on the listopia page where any books from my TBR are gathered together.
Yes, unfortunately there's no way to search lists to see only books on your TBR. But I agree that that's the easiest way to see how books fit (assuming someone else has added them to the listopia!)

I also use tags - the Goodreads shelves or genre tags- to see topics that other readers discovered in the books. Our group listopias tend to favor books that are fairly recent, or the favorites of active members who vote early. Over time, they will get better as more people vote. The main advantage to tags is that they are used by more people, and over time some books get hundreds or thousands. They will also help you to find books that aren’t on your tbr yet. They don’t work for all prompts.
As with the listopias, if you scan down the tag lists, you can see the books that you added to your own shelves. Note- this doesn’t work if you’re looking at a list of covers only.
Example:
Here are tag lists that would help find your Asian-authored books:
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
You can find any other tag lists by editing the links above with a different term at the end. I often start with a book that I know would fit, and I look at the tags that were given to that book to see which ones might be popular. In this case I started with She who became the sun.

You can also click the "Reading Challenge" link above "Year in Books" and that will take you to the current year.

Thanks so much, I will try this out as well.

Thanks, Nancy for the information about how to search tag lists. I figured there must be a way!

Welcome

My kingdom for this feature!

Haha! same here. Which one did you read? I read The Kaiju Preservation Society.

Ohhh, off to check it out!

Okay I've read a few, but have more on my TBR list...

I've read three, but in different categories so it's hard to vote for them when I can't compare them with their peers, so to speak.
I noticed The Lost Metal was on the list despite it only being published yesterday, so Goodreads clearly has high expectations of Sanderson fans' reading speeds!
Mod Note: I've archived all of the conversations around choosing the 2023 prompt, but if you'd like to continue discussing the GR Choice Awards, we have a thread for that!

I read The It Girl

I just put my final book in the 2022 spreadsheet and claimed my column for 2023

I feel the same way, when the yearly choosing process is done.
I could start weekly questions like some of my other GR groups have. All kinds of subjects, like
What is the first book you remember reading?
How do you track/rate/journal about your books?
What is your favorite book in x genre?
Have you met any authors?
How do you get out of a reading slump?
Which literary character would you like to meet?
Etc, etc.

Yes, I'm sure many people don't expect to finish all 52 books. I am running into the same issue because I am in multiple groups and I put off reading long books. But often they are my favorites.

Ooh, great answer, I think I'll start with that question and you can post a bit more about that.

In 2023, I'm prioritizing my own reading (for example finishing series) over either ATY or PS prompts. My goal for 2023 will be to complete 40 ATY prompts.
Some people opt for 26 since that is doing exactly half of it.
I'm using all the ATY prompts to do a movie challenge. (Around the year in 52 movies.)
