Corina | 2768 comments Yeah, I just got to the truth. So the blue hair was just a red herring...

message 52: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Right

message 53: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa Menezes (vanessa_menezes) | 441 comments I got addicted to this one. so I just couldn't stop reading and ended up finishing it just now!

I'm going to keep quiet and not reveal anything.

message 54: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments I'm almost done too! this was a great book

message 55: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments After the thing with the blue hair I realised there were a couple more red herrings darted around before...
I got to maybe chapter 30 last night, just past the scene with her and Kinnear where some truth comes out.
Well done, Vanessa, lol!
I will read some more today, not sure if I will finish it today, but definitely tomorrow.

JoJo_theDodo | 320 comments Hi All. I was going to pick up the book today but it seems like you all have gotten pretty far into the book and I won't be able to catch up quick enough. I'll just skip this one and maybe join a future buddy read that I can get the audiobook version of.

message 57: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Hi Jo, you can still join it. To be honest, I'm about 140 pages in maybe and its a really quick read, short chapters, so you can still pick it up if you want to.

message 58: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments yeah, Jo!! definitely read this one!! i won't get too far this weekend, I'll probably finish Monday or Tuesday :)

message 59: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Jo definitely go get this book now! You'll fly right through it!

message 60: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa Menezes (vanessa_menezes) | 441 comments Yeah Jo! Do go and get the book. I'm sure u will enjoy it.

message 61: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments What did you think of this one girls? I finished late on Sunday night :)

message 62: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments I liked this one! Fast read for sure!!!!

message 63: by JoJo_theDodo (new)

JoJo_theDodo | 320 comments I'm picking it up today at the library. I'm glad to know you all enjoyed it. : )

message 64: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments I'm finishing it up right now and it was great!! definitely a wild ride from start to finish lol. It did feel slightly predictable at some points but I enjoyed it nonetheless :)

message 65: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments I feel like I tried to like Scarlett/Carly but I just can't

message 66: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments It was definitely an entertaining read and it was a quick one too. It was easy to turn the pages. I agree with you, Bella, some twists were predictable and I wasn't a big fan of the ending. And yeah, Scarlett is not really an avenging hero anyway, she enjoys the killing. I still like Dexter better lol

message 67: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments yeah exactly! That's what I don't like - the fact that she genuinely enjoyed it and tried justifying her killing with "I need to stop them before they hurt anyone else." very weird but it made for an interesting character!

what did you guys wanna read next? :)

message 68: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Totally agree, Bella!
Not sure, I have too many, so hard to choose lol. Any suggestions?

message 69: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments I think you all had mentioned Four Treasures of The Sky?

message 70: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Yeah, its a new release I'm keen to read. I dont have my copy yet as there was a mix up with my order, but its on its way now, so hopefully will get it soon.
But I'm happy with any suggestions :)

message 71: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments oh okay sounds good! I wanted to read The Turn Of The Key but there's about a 4 week wait on it at my library. I also picked up The Final Girl Support Group which looks interesting but it does have some pretty mixed reviews!

message 72: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments I set a hold on The Turn of the Key, I have been meaning to read that one for ages. At this point, its expected I get it on June 24th. The Final Girls Support Group has a longer list of holds, but to be honest I'm not a huge fan on slashers. I did want to read it at one point but after reading one of his other books and also hearing that not so great reviews, I'm a bit apprehensive.

message 73: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments Right, I'm on the fence about it too!
Does anyone else have any ideas for our next read? :)

message 74: by Michael (new)

Michael Cook (michaelwcook) Bella, I started reading The Canterbury Tales and thought it was hilarious. It's the Penguin Classics version translated into modern English by Nevill Coghill. Is anyone interested in reading it?

message 75: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments My copy of Fours Treasures of the Sky should arrive early next week hopefully. I also have Notes on an execution and The twyford code in the same parcel, so keen to read those. Elektra or Pandora also come to mind, I have them on my shelves. Otherwise, maybe a stand alone fantasy like Spinning Silver/Uprooted or A sorcercy of thorns or we can even start a series? I'm open to ideas :)
Hi Michael :) I've tried reading The Canterury Tales years and years ago now, but I couldn't get into them. Maybe the new version would be worth trying, but I have so many books on my shelves and on my kindle that I'm more interested in picking up at the moment to be honest.

message 76: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Hey guys I have Four Treasures so whenever you get yours Corina if everyone is on board with that one, sounds good to me.

Bella, I tried Final Girl and it was really....boring. It just wasn't good writing which sucked cause it sounded like it could have been good.

message 77: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments What about Book of Night by Holly Black, The Embroidered Book, Sorcerer's and Saints, All the Liars, Under the sea of wives (I think) .... Spinning Silver/Uprooted/A sorcery of Thorns... The unsinkable Greta James? The Wise Women

message 78: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments night crawler or something like that looks good

message 79: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Four Treasures sounds good to me. Will let you know when mine arrives.
I have Spinning Silver, Uprooted and Sorcery of thorns, so can start those anytime.
Book of Night has a really long waiting list at the library. I think a friend of mine has The Embroidered Book, so I can get that. Have to check out the others as haven't heard of them :)

message 80: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Ok. Everyone?

message 81: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments oh no, then I might not try to read the Final Girl haha. I've been having good luck with the books I've been reading lately, I think an unenjoyable one would throw me off/send me into a slump.

Spinning Silver and Uprooted are both available for me to borrow so I can start those any time as well!

message 82: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments I'm happy with either :)

message 83: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Also, I will probably get Four Treasures of the Sky tomorrow or Monday at the latest.

message 84: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments ok so let's get uprooted and spinning silver too. which one do we want to do first?

message 85: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments And Bella that's exactly what happened to me the last few months

message 86: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Vanessa, any preference?
I'm leaning towards Spinning Silver :)

message 87: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Guess what? I received my order today (which was supposed to contain Four treasures). I open the parcel and inside are 3 books I've never heard about in my life or ordered...

message 88: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments whaaaaat!!! well did u look them up?

message 89: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Yeah, I emailed them and they replied and apologised. They requested the books I actually ordered from their suppliers so they will send them as soon as possible.
The books that arrived are by this woman who apparently believes in unicorns :)))) sorry, but I have to laugh at that

message 90: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments hahaha oh noooo that sucks!! That's so funny though, are the books about unicorns? haha

message 91: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments haha...yeah, it was annoying, but I must say the unicorn book was amusing. The books were my this lady who is a spiritual leader apparently and she claims that angels, unicorns and even dragons come to her. And in the unicorn book you have different exercises that you can do apparently to get in touch with the unicorns such as making unicorn essence (its water and alcohol energised by the full moon) or even how to bend a spoon (you just need to focus and chant)....I had to laugh hahahaha

message 92: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Lmao OMG people will believe in anything anymore. it's crazy

message 93: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments its definitely mind boggling

message 94: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments do we want to start spinning silver or uprooted? seeing that I have to wait again for four treasures...

message 95: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments That's interesting but yeah... very strange hahaha. I believe in some supernatural stuff but not to that extent - dragons and unicorns don't talk to me hahaha

message 96: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments yes I'm down to start whichever! I started listening to It but I didn't realize how long that book is haha

message 97: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments unicorns and dragons is a bit too much hahaha

message 98: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments I'm happy with whichever too...which one did you start listening to?

message 99: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments Courtney, which do you wanna start first? :)

message 100: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments It by Stephen King! I just read The Outsider and it was very creepy and it put me in the mood to read more creepy books lol but I might've tired myself out already
