Yes, the blue prompt cell means the book is committed to the said prompt (only temporarily though). I also want to use Scales of God for ancient civilization prompt. But put it in the different eras one because there is no other book fitting the civilization prompt yet and I was trying to see how many prompts we have books ready to complete. But I've moved it to ancient civilizations. Hopefully, someone else will pick up a second book to fit the prompt.

I'm glad someone has found a different book with "strange" in the title so I don't have to put all my effort into one long book.

I've found a short book with under 1000 ratings to read on my TBR, which also fits a few other prompts. I'll leave my planning to that book and finishing Dragonfly in Amber for now, but I have thought of some other options for the more difficult prompts if there is time and they still need filling.

2- Voyage au bout de la nuit -fits multiple prompts
3- the strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mister Hyde- for strange prompts
4- l'étrange été de Tom Harvey- fits multiple prompts and the summer one

The tales of Beedle the bard - too short to start reading it now but hope to be able to read it June 3rd or 4th- goes with Oshizu reading a book by Robert Galbraith who is JK Rowling

That brings me to 5 books but looking at this plan, I see I can read more then that. If teammates want to tell me how I can help them fill out some prompts, I can look into my TBR lists that has 900 something books. I am quite sure I can find books in either French or English that can helps fill out prompts. :-)

You can figure out for yourself what to read by checking our spreadsheet's "Possible Fits" column. Any column that has zero or another lowish number needs help.
Also, just because a 3-book prompt shows 3 possible fits, one or more of those three books might be assigned to other prompts.
So it's good to check not only "Possible Fits" but also, when you decide on a prompt to check, if any of the three books marked with X has already been assigned by Ushashi to a different prompt.
If you have the time and energy to read more than five books, Lorraine, that is how you decide which books to read for a team readathon. 🧡

And now I'm getting off the computer so I can pre-read another book for the readathon.

Just want you to know that I've got two books with 100+ pages left for June 3, but I've lost focus to do the same for the 520-page Scales of Gold.
Therefore, I'm replacing it with the 324-pg The Red Tent which still fits the "ancient civilization" prompt but not the "different eras" prompt.

I guess we can use the number of pages on the book that you have. Unless it's an audio version. Or else we can go with the GR default edition page number (504).

About the point system, the rules say:

Point System

Although teams may have varying amounts of members, you have all been divided fairly based on the number of books pledged. The point breakdown is as follows:

World Missions
Singles: 50 POINTS EACH
Doubles: 100 POINTS EACH
Triples: 150 POINTS EACH
Team Missions: 100 POINTS EACH
Team Books: 150 POINTS EACH
Pages Read: 1 POINT PER PAGE (only count pages for completed books)

Here’s an example of how the point system works: Say I read Hostage by Clare Mackintosh for Team D.B. Cooper. I would earn 150 points + 357 page points for my team because it is a team book. I would not be able to also count that for the team challenge “Read a book that takes place on an airplane” because I have chosen to receive the bonus points. However, if one of my teammates has already read Hostage and received bonus points for it, then I could count that title towards the team challenge instead and receive 100 points + 357 page points.

Does this mean that a completed triples prompt gives us total 150 points, or 150 points per book (450 points)?

Someone asked the same question in the central thread and it turns out each book is 50 points. So a completed triples prompt in 150 points total.

Ushashi and Lorraine,
In cases where the book description of the edition you're reading has no page count listed, you would go with the most recent hardcover edition.
But, the 504-page edition is in Spanish. I checked Amazon and the French edition is 404 pages.
So, 404 pages sounds fair to me. What do you think?

That sounds perfect. I didn't even realize the default edition is Spanish 🤦‍♀️. I have literally zero knowledge of either of these languages.

You can enter the completed book now on the third tab, or later in the day, whichever suits you. Also copy the possible fits to the third sheet. The pages read on the first tab is for every day, so end of the day works for that.

Just a quick question I thought only the pages in the completed books count for points,, What happens if I don't complete the book?

My understanding was that let’s say you had 100 pages left on a book you finished after the 3rd, on’y these 100 pages counts. If you read a full book starting today and complete by end of the challenge, then you count all the pages. Is my understanding correct?

Not sure what was causing that, but I copy/pasted the Possible Fits column again then used Delete on most of that row and it's zero now. Thanks for catching that.

I finished two pre-read books at this point, one of them being The History Teacher. When I added it to the Tracking page and slotted it for the "history teacher " prompt, since it was the only book that's being read for that prompt.

I feel we can input our daily tracking whenever we want as long as we're not too far behind our actual reading. If I'm reading late at night, I won't add my daily tracking until the next day.

Well, darn! I wish I'd noticed that you were also reading a book that fit prompt! I honestly didn't see that.

Actually, The History Teacher's protagonist has "strong morals, so I've moved my book to that prompt in the Tracking thread since I see no other High Morals book in the Planning thread. It's a shame to use your book for the easier "continents" prompt.

I haven't touched the Completed tab, so if you prefer to leave our "history teacher" books as is, let me know.
