Pouneh (pfefferminz1362) I love the idea as well. Will follow suit and change the books read and unread to track them accurately.

Nice going, Carri!

I myself am still on book three as I have multiple social obligations this weekend.

Happy reading everyone! I hope you all enjoy your reads as much as I do 😁🌈

KaraBeta | 157 comments Hello team!

I finished The Map of Salt and Stars and filled in the sheet.
Could someone please check if I did it correctly?

message 53: by Kat (new)

Kat | 76 comments I've finished three books since the start of the Readathon which is more than I was expecting. I'm back at work today so will be slowing down quite a bit for the next few days.

christene_littlelibrary (cpaulanavarro) | 439 comments Just finished The Book of Cold Cases and halfway through my third book!

message 55: by KaraBeta (new)

KaraBeta | 157 comments I've finished Kindheit and Champion of Fire & Ice and am about to start Jugend, book two for the 'translated from any other language than English' prompt.

Marleen | 965 comments You’re all smashing it!
I’m in the middle of Phantom Pains for character with a physical disability or impairment, and also started Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore. Christene, you also were planning to read this, and according to the tracking sheet you’ve already finished it? We can count it once for the Team Books, and once for one of the other prompts like Book about books, for instance 🤗

Carri Carey | 1050 comments Just finished my 4th book! Everyone is doing amazing!

We are halfway through today. If you need to adjust any books, this would be a good time to do so. Anything you need a place for, we can easily fill 3 books added in the past year and 3 books with 3 different colors.

Not yet. Lol but i'll finished it today.

KaraBeta | 157 comments Good morning

I've finished Jugend and am halfway through Abhängigkeit with which the translated triple will be done.

After that I'll read Fire & Frost: Vom Eis berührt to complete the antonyms double.

Happy reading!

bailey (bailsbookshelves) | 1229 comments Hi Team Piri Reis!
Just wanted to check in and let you know the Readathon Team Progress thread has been posted and is ready for team leaders to update their team’s reading so far! Be sure to comment your team’s progress before the readathon ends so that your team can earn bragging rights and post-readathon awards!!

message 61: by Marleen (new)

Marleen | 965 comments Hey team! I just finished Phantom Pains and put it in for the Triple prompt ‘featuring a character who has a physical disability or impairment’ (the main character is an amputee).
We only need one more book for that prompt to get the points :)

message 62: by Carri Carey, TBR Twins (new)

Carri Carey | 1050 comments I have a graphic novel I can read Daredevil: Yellow for the disability prompt.
I’ll also finished an audiobook tomorrow with less than 1000 ratings. Doesn’t anyone else have something for that? Because I could also use it for a nonfiction book

message 63: by Carri Carey, TBR Twins (new)

Carri Carey | 1050 comments Ok Team, we're down to the last weekend! Here are the prompts we need at least one more book in. If someone is reading a book that fits, let me know! Otherwise, we can move the other books from the prompt to something else.

- Less than 1000 ratings (I have this one covered)
- Physical disabilities (I have this one covered)
- Variety of sexualities (need 1)
- Historical time period (need 1)
- Takes place in summer (need 1)

Thanks everyone, we're rocking this!

message 64: by KaraBeta (new)

KaraBeta | 157 comments Hi everyone,

@Carri Carey
Unfortunately graphic novels do not count for this readathon

I just finished 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in this Strange World, it features a woman with dwarfism for the disability prompt so that could be ticked off.

What a book, I'm still full into the story and it will be with me for some time on, a wholeheartedly five star read.

We could move Champion of Fire & Ice to the variety of sexualities and I'll read Turning Darkness Into Light as replacement for the antonyms double.

What do you think?

message 65: by Kat (new)

Kat | 76 comments I have another book for historical time period which I will start tonight. I'm also reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for one of the special reads. I'm hoping for a quiet weekend so should be able to fit one last book in if there is something we still need.

Thanks KaraBeta! It's hard to keep all the rules straight.
We absolutely can move those two books, I just wanted to see if someone was planning a book that fits before we did that.

Pouneh (pfefferminz1362) Hi everyone,
I am so sorry, but I won't be able to fulfil the prompt for a book published in 1929. Each book I started put me in a dour mood and a reading slump over the week - so I had to stop. Sorry for letting you down. 😢

I am reading Artifact by Gigi Pandian which takes place in summer it also features a historical time period.

I read 10 Minutes 38 Seconds last year and am sometimes still thinking of it.

How did you like the trilogy? I loved the humor and the cast of characters. I think it is time for a re-read of the trilogy 😁

I’ve only read the first 2 so far, but have really enjoyed them! Millie is an awesome flawed impulsive main character and really makes these books.

message 71: by Marleen (new)

Marleen | 965 comments I just finished Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, originally wanted to read this for the Team Books but Christene beat me to it :)
So I’m counting it for ‘book about books’ which completes another prompt!

I will try to finish my fourth book tomorrow, we will see I can manage it!

message 72: by Kat (new)

Kat | 76 comments I've got a clear day so I'll read a book from 1929. I've had Margery Allingham on my TBR list for a while so that should work.

I tried to read Crime at Black Dudley by her but couldn't get into the story. Hope you enjoy it more than me 😅

Oh right, Phantom Pains is the second book - jepp, a re-read is in order!

message 75: by Pouneh (last edited Jun 12, 2022 05:49AM) (new)

Pouneh (pfefferminz1362) I've just finished The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. As it did not fit any other prompt I changed Meddling and Murder to Amateur Sleuth and put The Alchemist for a discovery as the book is about a treasure hunt and the discoveries of our protagonist along the way.

I think I can squeeze in a last book for history teacher - well Jaya is a history professor but I'll count it if no one objects 😉

Same lol I didn't try to finish it hahah

Pouneh (pfefferminz1362) Kat wrote: "I'm enjoying it so far, must just be me."

I am glad for you that you enjoy it. Tastes are subjective after all 😉

message 79: by KaraBeta (new)

KaraBeta | 157 comments I finished Turning Darkness Into Light, I'll update the sheet later, when I've access to a proper computer, with the mobile I'm going nuts and to hell with autocorrect (haven't figured out yet how to turn it off and with a German keyboard, there is a lot of autocorrect when writing English!)

I'm about to start another book but I doubt I can finish it in time.

I had a great time so far:
I read seven books instead of my goal of four, I chose books I'd otherwise would have put off for some time in the future, I realized that two of new to me authors aren't exactly what I hoped for so I can delete some books of my tbr list and two of the books were five star plus highlights.

Yay for readathons!

message 80: by Marleen (new)

Marleen | 965 comments I finished my fourth book, Killman Creek!

I moved a book around: I saw that we now had 3 books filled in for the Team Books, and there is a maximum of 2. So I have moved Karabeta’s The Map of Salt and Stars to the double prompt ‘Read 2 books: 1 set on or beside the sea, 1 set in on or beside freshwater (creek, river, lake)’. So together with my Killman Creek we have now completed that double.

This was my last book, thanks for the readathon folks!

message 81: by KaraBeta (new)

KaraBeta | 157 comments Cool, thank you, Marleen!
I forgot that one in my commune above, I've read 8 books! *flexibler my reading muscles*

message 82: by KaraBeta (new)

KaraBeta | 157 comments commune = comment
flexibler = flexing
*to hell with autocorrect*

message 83: by Carri Carey, TBR Twins (new)

Carri Carey | 1050 comments Just finished my last book! Pouneh, I moved Pirate Vishnu to the history teacher prompt so I could add mine to 1000 ratings or less. One more prompt complete! We can still move a couple around but I want to wait til tomorrow morning (in the US) to finalize everything in case some people are still finishing up reading today.

Awesome job everyone! WE ROCK!!

message 84: by Kat (new)

Kat | 76 comments I finished my last book as well. I read a lot more than I thought and it's been fun. We've filled so many prompts between us.

message 85: by Pouneh (new)

Pouneh (pfefferminz1362) I finished my last book at 10:58 pm. I switched Pirate Vishnu from History Teacher to includes a map as to fit the last book into the prompts.

It eas so much fun to go on this mission with you all 🥰
