This happens when there is an author with the same name. I can fix it for you. Can you send me please all the links of the books you wish to be on your account? Thanks!

Hi Jessica, The author profile I do not have access to, and have tried to reset the password so need to wait 48 hours appparently.
I have also been sent this message by someone called Faith "You can neither delete the author account nor combine the accounts. Use the contact us button on the right to reach Goodreads Support."
Goodreads Support told me to import/export the books as they have missed the point of me wanting to claim my books onto my personal profile (I reached out to GS before messaging you and they did not respond - until this morning).
It also seems 'the other Dawn Bates' has possibly claimed my books as her own as Super Hot Sex is listed and a couple of others which are not my books. If this is the case, what happens then?
I appreciate you're help, I really do.

You can’t add books to a personal profile. You need to claim an author profile. I can’t help you with that unfortunately. Until you have access to an author profile I can’t do anything about your books. So if you go to the link I sent and start from scratch, what happens?

Hi Jessica, Thanks for the update, and your patience with this. Just arrived in Nicaragua and been getting sorted out here hence the delay in getting back to you.
When I go to any of my books they have already been claimed by the other profile so I cannot claim the author profile.
When I go to the 'author page' I cannot see where 'Is this you?' is written (as per the instructions in the link you sent me).
There are also two books on the list of all my books which are not mine, and several books missing from the Goodreads database.
If I try and click on the 'edit data' hyperlink I get the error message of 'Sorry, this author is on Goodreads and is responsible for editing their own data.'
Any thoughts on the next steps?

Forgot about the other author profile and your books for a minute. That will get sorted out later. There can be multiple author profiles with the same name. I can’t create yours. If the instructions don’t help you, you need to email Goodreads support and get them to help you create a new author profile under your name. Or message me your log in info for Goodreads and I will do it for you.

• Your email address linked to your Goodreads account.
• Please include your Kindle Direct Publishing email address, if applicable.
• Email address of your most recent publisher or agent. If self-published, indicate “Self-Published Author.”
• Link to a publisher site (such as Amazon, Createspace, Smashwords, etc.) that confirms your book(s) have been or will be published.
• To verify you as quickly as possible, we recommend connecting your Goodreads account to your Facebook account.
• If some titles on the Goodreads author profile for which you are applying are not yours, please list each book that should be moved.
Once you have gathered the above information, follow these steps to apply again:
1. On the desktop version of Goodreads, search for your most popular book via ISBN, ASIN, or title.
2. On the book page, click on your author name. Scroll to the bottom of your author profile page.
3. Click “Is this you? Let us know!” to complete and submit the application.

Now that there are more than one book on it. You shouldn't have a problem getting accepted if you do everything they ask of you.

My request has been rejected again Jessica... even though all the info they requested from me was accurate.The only thing I can think of is I don't have a Facebook/Meta account. Surely that is not the problem!?
These are my books, and I want to claim them as mine, and I want to harness the power of this platform to connect with readers. What are your thoughts on the next steps?
Is it now time to escalate this to someone higher up in Goodreads tech support, do you think? Find out why they are not allowing me access to my books?
I am trying my best to not get too frustrated but this is really starting to get to me.

It's ridiculous, isn't it!? I've emailed a lady with the author profile link you set up, and told them that there are currently 3 different authors listed on that first profile with the same name.
Why this is allowed to happen is not beyond me.

I have noticed that my books have been listed under a different account and there are reviews on there I do not wish to lose.
Nor do I wish to lose all the book reviews that I have written on fellow author's books.
Any ideas on how these can be merged?
