Series Speculations
Keep in mind that a Christ figure would have to be perfect, and one with Elôm. I mean, that would, of course, be if Ilyon would parallel the Bible.
Claire, I had considered Timothy too. But I also agree with Amanda. And I don't think Timothy could quite fit with that. Especially his relationship with Leetra. (Admittedly mostly imagined by us, but I think There's enough there.)
Also, if someone we know was the Mary figure, the Christ figure would have to be born - therefore making His sacrifice much later in the series. Of course it could be Kyrin, but I'm not sure the likelihood. For any of you that read Makilien, Meniah (am I spelling that right?) was already a grown man when we met him.
True, but that doesn't mean that Jaye wouldn't attack it from a different angle in this series. We don't know the time frame for the full series. It's an interesting theory. I don't know that I'm sold on it, though. We'll see what happens.
I'm thinking that the Sacrifice would happen in the last book, though. Just throwing that theory out there.
I would be shocked if Kyrin were Mary. I'd sooner suspect Lady Anne. But if we're speculating solely on characters we have already met, I'd sooner suspect Lenae and Jeremy actually. :) Or what if it were Torin. :)
But I don't believe it's anyone we know already...at least not well...
Meniah gives me entire confidence that an Ilyon version would be done excellently. :)
There's no saying you'd have to have a Sacrifice in the series. You could have a birth in the series. However, a sacrifice is, granted, much more dramatic and also climactic and pivotal. *ponders how the Sacrifice would be key to Jace were it to occur in SP* *doesn't know what future books' themes are so can't speculate that far* :)
I was also thinking of the abortion issue mention briefly in Resistance. If there were a birth scene, that could factor in very dramatically considering the culture. Maybe a Moses-like birth scene (toned down for reputations' sake of course).
All this is just speculation though. :) I don't believe any of it will actually appear in the books, though I could be surprised. :)
And now I have to wonder if Jaye will read all this and be smirking and chuckling and thinking "They're so far off it's hilarious."

But hey, whether we're light years off or spot on, that's not important. What's important is that we're thinking and analyzing - and through so doing some of us are learning to be better authors and plotters, and all of us are learning to be better thinkers. :)Plus we are spending more time around Ilyon and its characters. :)

XDDD This is great, guys. I'm leaning towards maybe this staying as an Old Testament thing. I haven't read the Makilien series, but... and this is just a random theory... What if all of this is stuff that happens long before that series. Maybe Jesus won't feature at all in this series, and it will just be focusing on the Old Testament-ish times. Maybe Jace is a sort of Moses figure, or maybe he's supposed to be like David? XD That's probably just a wild theory, though.
Jaye made a comment on Facebook about researching pregnancy. Someone's having a baby I think. You're all going to say Anne.
I was thinking about posting the same comment here, Anna. :) but it could be a much later book. :) (or even a different series/story?)
I agree that it wouldn't be Samara's Peril. I was thinking maybe five, but she finished the first draft months ago and I don't know that she's working on six yet.
I have a feeling abortion will be an issue in one of the books. So that would make sense that someone would be pregnant...
I should be more careful with what I post on FB. XD
I have started the first draft of book six, but in writing book five, I had an unexpected romance pop up that demanded to be told. So I'm actually working on a short story that takes place just after book five. As soon as I finish it, I'll get back to work on book six. :)

It being Liam would be nice, but for some reason it doesn't seem quite right to me. Which is a funny thing to say with almost no information. What about Talas?
Ooh ... all the speculations!! I haven't been on this thread for awhile ... this is great!! :D *must hurry back to Samara's Peril*
No not Timothy. I thought we already had another idea there. And nobody wants anything to happen to Leetra.
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Daniel... :) Maybe you all just expect Daniel to get a girl anyway, so you don't think he would unexpectedly have a romance that far down the line. :)*thinks of all the females it could possibly be if it IS a female*
I feel like speculating on the ones no one else will... Lenae? :) or Davira. ;) or Lydia! That would be quite interesting actually.
Or maybe Trask died and Lady Anne gets a new fiancé... ;) *hides from horrified fans* (I actually would be shocked if that happened.)
We actually have comparatively few unattached females we've met at this point who would be of proper age - assuming that this isn't 10 years away, which I believe is a safe assumption.
But back on the topic everyone was effectively distracted from... if there's a marriage, it gives the pregnancy theory more support. ;)
I thought of Daniel, but didn't say anything. He seems a bit too important for that to happen unexpectedly.I was trying to count the number of female characters with even one appearance. I actually kept thinking of more.
Kyrin, Anne, Lydia, Leetra, Meredith, Davira, Lenae, Solara, Lady Videlle, Holly, Elsie, Rebekah, Edith, Kalli. With Tallas' sister that makes fifteen. I think that's all of them who have names.
I'm guessing it's not Meredith or Kalli. :) and Solara is married... But we don't know if she is by that point...
I was thinking about a Christ figure again. If Arcacia is Rome, then maybe Samara is somewhat representative of Judea and that is where the saviour comes. Near the beginning of Resistance it mentioned that their faith had preserved them, but it was growing weaker. I could be completely wrong of course, but it's something worth considering.
EXILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Book 4 has an official title and description. Yay! Why aren't we already speculating?
So, stuff we know for certain:
King Balam and Prince Daniel are the two characters mentioned by name. Both are great characters I look forward to hearing more about. Yay!
OUR PARTY IS GOING TO DORLAND, I.E. The crete country. So this means that we're going to meet more cretes, which means that Kaden might get to meet Talas's younger sister, and my ship might come about!
I believe this is the one book where there won't be a single prison break. (I'm like 90% sure that Jaye said it was book four)
The mock cover is red. This feels important to me.
I noticed the red, too. Quite a different feel from the greens and browns of the other covers....Cretes! Sounds like fun....
Seems like this book has potential for drastic (i.e. bad) things to happen. Especially with the three story lines. But also good - especially with where all the characters are at. :)
BUT. THERE'S AN ARENA ON THE PINTEREST BOARD. :( :(
On a happier note, there's happy Trask and Anne on the board too. :) Maybe...? :)
Or red could mean fire. I think the colour has alotof fight to it. Dorland also comes with a small chance of finding giants.

Timothy was the first person to come to mind when it comes to a Christ figure because he's taking the role of prophet/preacher, so..
