Series Speculations

Exactly. :)
Kendra, well-written analysis. I can see how the match might be good for Leetra and how she might need someone like Timothy. My perspective is more from Timothy's POV, though. He deserves the best. And Leetra, while good in her own way, isn't his type. Still - there could be more to her than has been revealed yet. She's very crete, which means very anti-revolution/Daican/moon gods, and presumably very loyal to Elom. She could mature to the depth of relationship with Elom that would suit Timothy. So - if I saw enough development in her, I'm open to changing my mind on this. :) (Though of all the characters, Timothy and Aaron would work well remaining single - Timothy especially, with his dedicated life purpose and focus.) It's up to what Elom wants for him. Leetra seems like she enjoys some elements of singleness and independence too, though I'd guess that family is also very important to her. Again, I trust Jaye not to do anything dreadful or uncharacteristic no matter which way the characters go. :)
Change of speculation, who else thinks Jasper is going to show back up? What do you think would be Jace's reaction?
Speaking of changing speculations... who else thinks some minor character introduced in Book 3 or 4 is going to show up again in Book 6? ;)
Resterwen wrote: "Speaking of changing speculations... who else thinks some minor character introduced in Book 3 or 4 is going to show up again in Book 6? ;)"You know, that could happen!
Hannah wrote: "I have to disagree, Resterwen. As opposed to the dating and courting systems of today, the circumstances and perils Jace and Kyrin are in test character and relationships to the highest degree. If ..."Very true. Jace and Kyrin have been through so much together, they've been there for each other in really tough times. I feel like they've established a very close relationship, and are even quite falling for each other, but don't realize it yet (at least Jace doesn't!) :D :)
Ghost Ryter wrote: "You don't have to absolutely fit the person God has picked out for you... Sometimes that's why you're going to be together, because you balance each other out. (*cough*EanrinandImraldera*cough*)"Yes!! :D :) I think Timothy's going to soften Leetra a bit, and help her as she's struggling. And Leetra will probably add some wild adventure to his life! :) :)
Shantelle Mary wrote: "Ghost Ryter wrote: "You don't have to absolutely fit the person God has picked out for you... Sometimes that's why you're going to be together, because you balance each other out. (*cough*Eanrinand..."Yes, he's probably going to be suffering a bit of culture shock as he and Aaron are about to join the cretes. I foresee Tallas and Leetra being instrumental in their adjustment period. (I mean, even if they're half-crete, they've spent their whole life MINING. Getting used to life in trees, and the crete way of life may take a bit. Hmm ... I'm now tempted to write a fanfic on this ... though maybe not until after SP is out.)
Kendra wrote: "Shantelle Mary wrote: "Ghost Ryter wrote: "You don't have to absolutely fit the person God has picked out for you... Now I'm getting really excited to see where Timothy, Aaron, Leetra, and Talas's lives go! Love these characters, :)
Hannah wrote: "No one has any thoughts about Jasper? :("Well... I think Jace might struggle with going back to the "soulless" thoughts and all. It would be devastating for him! :0
No, I don't think Jasper would send Jace back to his soul issues. As we saw in TKS, he's now pretty sure in his faith. However, I do think there would be quite a bit of drama from his reappearance.
Exactly. It'd be such a struggle between rage and hate for the man versus what he's been taught by Elom.
Yes, that. Though he doesn't seem to have problems anymore with the brothers who were tormenting him at the camp.I think the only person who could send him back to his soul struggle at this point would be his actual biological family if we meet them (and it's my strong suspicion that that's the struggle mentioned in the blurb for SP). If I remember right, Jaye promised answers for his past in this next book. My personal suspicion (built off of someone else's spec, though I forget exactly whose), is that his mother was a princess or other such noble lady of Samara, who was kidnapped by the Ryriks for an indeterminable period of time, and her father probably deposed of the half-breed child at some point.
Just my suspicion, I may be wrong, but I honestly think we'll find a living member of his biological family in SP.
Hannah wrote: "No one has any thoughts about Jasper? :("I actually never thought about him showing back up! But now that I think about it, he might.
Kendra wrote: "Yes, that. Though he doesn't seem to have problems anymore with the brothers who were tormenting him at the camp.I think the only person who could send him back to his soul struggle at this point..."
I have this same suspicion too... I also think that it might be his parent with ryrik blood. That would really stir things up.
Jasper...ugh. I've thought about his reappearing, and I hope for Jace's sake he doesn't. I've also thought about Morden and Rebekah too. I could see Rebekah someday joining the Resistance. Morden though....not so much.
Micailah wrote: "Jasper...ugh. I've thought about his reappearing, and I hope for Jace's sake he doesn't. I've also thought about Morden and Rebekah too. Mord..."I hope one day /everyone/ in Ilyon comes to know Elom and join the Resistance. :) I guess it wouldn't be much of a resistance though would it? Lol
Actually, though things sort of settled for Jace and he didn't struggle with it so much in TKS, he still hasn't gotten a definite answer on whether or not he has a soul. So old uncertainties could resurface . . . under the right circumstances.
*makes popcorn and sits back to watch how the conversation goes now* ;)

Jaye wrote: "Actually, though things sort of settled for Jace and he didn't struggle with it so much in TKS, he still hasn't gotten a definite answer on whether or not he has a soul. So old uncertainties could ..."Exactly. It's something that that could boil out and become an issue again, but it's going to take something very strong to shake it, such as rejection from his actual family. We shall see though.
Ooh, popcorn! Don't suppose you'd share, now would you?
Ooh, yummy! *Actually, I was just eating popcorn, it's a daily snack at my house.*I love speculating. You know, no one commented on my proposition that Kaden could be shipped with Tallas's younger sister (the one who's similar to him in personality)
*settles in with some goldfish crackers* regarding Jace, that's why I'm voting for his human mom to come by and tell him he most definitely has a soul. Have we met Talas's younger sister? But I think Kaden with a Crete girl would be cute. Talas is really cool so it stands to reason anyone related to him would be awesome too. :)
No, we haven't met her, but Jaye has made especial mention on her both in the book and in the interview. If she isn't important, I'll be upset, and I'd love to see her with Kaden. (Provided she's old enough, because I'm not sure how old Talas is.)
Kaden and a Crete girl would be fun, :-) They could ride dragons together all day long, ;-) :-)Jace has come a long way. In any case, its definitely going to bring back some bad feelings if Jasper comes back. Though Jace knows Elom better now, I felt I was still getting vibes of insecurity from Jace. I mean... the whole not getting married thing...
Of course, Kyrin and other friends help him feel more worthy and whatnot. But what if he were to get recaptured by someone, like Jasper or something. Put back in the arenas. Thrust back into his old, dark life...
But now that I thought about it more, it does seem more that he would be rethinking the "soulless" thing if he meets his family. Namely if his father is a cruel ryrik!
I'm still really curious of Davira. What devious things is she going to do in the next books??
Shantelle Mary wrote: "Kaden and a Crete girl would be fun, :-) They could ride dragons together all day long, ;-) :-)Jace has come a long way. In any case, its definitely going to bring back some bad feelings if Jaspe..."
His father could be a "good" ryrik. (I'm still hoping we'll see something like that.) If Jace sees that there is more to a full-blood ryrik than just destruction, cruelty, murder, and all that evil stuff, then he might finally rid himself of his doubt.
Ah-ha! These are the speculations I love! And Kendra, good idea about his mother, that's one I've had too!
It just occurred to me that I completely forgot who Jasper was, and had him placed as the boy who was teasing him in the village where they lived at the opening of Resistance ... Well, on this note, I think there probably would be a bit of drama, should they meet again, at least on Jace's part. I don't know if Jasper really cares about him, anymore. He was just one of his slaves, after all.
What if Jasper comes to know Elom and joins the Resistance??? O.O That would cause some drama... But I don't think Jasper will do that.
Well, you never know how Elom can work in the hearts of men. John Newton, or Paul himself for example. That would be an interesting twist!
Kendra wrote: "Well, you never know how Elom can work in the hearts of men. John Newton, or Paul himself for example. That would be an interesting twist!"Very true. :) It doesn't matter your past, you can always come to know the Lord. :D
I'd forgotten who Jasper was at first too. My little sister reminded me who he was, :-) Goodness, that'd be an unexpected twist!! But true, it's possible! :-) I would like to see some good full-blood ryriks too; and figure out why they have such a brutal reputation, hmmm...
Oh, and great speculations about Jace's mother! I'm excited to see who she turns out to be.
Alea wrote: "Rayad is not allowed to die. It would crush Jace. :O"Micailah wrote: "I know. :( That's what makes me suspicious. I'm totally gonna loose it if he dies."
He's the mentor so of COURSE he's going to die, but we can still hope. It would crush me too... But yeah, poor Jace. I'll totally lose it too if Rayad dies.
Ghost Ryter wrote: "You don't have to absolutely fit the person God has picked out for you... Sometimes that's why you're going to be together, because you balance each other out. (*cough*EanrinandImraldera*cough*)"
:D
JACE AND KYRIN WERE SO CUTE IN THE TOWER. I LOVED IT. I'M HOPING FOR LOTS MORE OF THAT STUFF IN BOOK 3! ;D
Jaye wrote: "Don't forget I'm a hopeless romantic, so . . . ;)"YES YES YES YES. I love that about you. ^_^

Hannah wrote: "Change of speculation, who else thinks Jasper is going to show back up? What do you think would be Jace's reaction?"
Ooooh. I never thought of that. But yeah, I bet Jasper will show up sometime.
Alea wrote: "What if Jasper comes to know Elom and joins the Resistance??? O.O That would cause some drama... But I don't think Jasper will do that."
*feels a little bad for saying this but* NO THAT WOULD BE HORRIBLE.
Shantelle Mary wrote: "Kaden and a Crete girl would be fun, :-) They could ride dragons together all day long, ;-)"
:O Kaden and a crete girl!!!! I want this so bad! It'd be perfect! <3
Micailah wrote: "Jasper...ugh. I've thought about his reappearing, and I hope for Jace's sake he doesn't. I've also thought about Morden and Rebekah too. I could see Rebekah someday joining the Resistance. Mord..."I wouldn't care for Rebekah to show up again, she's a piece of Jace's past that I am really done with. Also, call me the jealous type, but Jace is all Kyrin's, no competition allowed, I don't have the emotional room for that kind of drama, this series is draining enough (in a good way).
Shantelle Mary wrote: "Kaden and a Crete girl would be fun, :-) They could ride dragons together all day long, ;-) :-)Jace has come a long way. In any case, its definitely going to bring back some bad feelings if Jaspe..."
Oh, I am so hoping Jaye doesn't lead Jace back to the arena, I am hoping that instead of heading towards civilization, we get to venture into ryrik territory and the whole unseen world there.
Uh yeah, I'm not expecting Rebekah back at all....I don't know why, but I have this fear that Davira will find ryriks (Jace) fascinating. What IF she's part ryrik too???? (A wild speculation, I know, but what else is this thread for?)
Davira as half ryrik...whoa. That would be a twist, alright.Actually, i'd like it if Rebekah did come back; she'd be nice for Liam, I think. :)
Well, I think she is truly the daughter of Daican and his queen...but I suppose one of THEM could be part ryrik. GASP. (snickers at how I'm stirring things up)
ALSO GASPS. We haven't heard much about the Empress, have we... Ooh, she could be like Esther and stand up for her people!

First of all, she just got burned. She gave her trust to Falcor and he trampled it in the dirt, and revealed himself to be part of the enemy. She's not going to fall for a man of his type again - and I think she wouldn't go for a "marriage of convenience" again. She'll want someone she'll KNOW she can trust, someone she can give her heart to. Someone like Timothy, someone sweet and gentle and sure in his faith.
Secondly, while she is brash and rude, that is typical of her people, and it has been mostly from the POV of the outsiders. We saw some moments of her breaking in TKS. Also: she's a healer. That takes a certain level of care and gentleness. I think it's down in there, she just has a very rough front.
Also, I can really see them spending time together over the next few months, as she seeks Elom to find where her heart lies after EVENTS. He's eager to teach, and he obviously admires her.
No, I don't ship them as they are now, but I do see potential from their relationship. She's a healer, he's a man of God's Word. She patches up men's bodies, he heals their souls. They'll be a powerful force for Elom, I do know that.
