Oh, I'm not saying that I want the illegitimate heir to WIN. Just, that I strongly suspect this heir IS illegitimate.
Well, naturally, Daniel will raise his niece or nephew after Davira dies, because she must die. Remember in Exiles he mourned all the nieces and nephews Davira had already caused him to lose?Wouldn't it be a weird circle in the series if the illegitimate child had Collin for a father?
So I had a thought...I know we're all probably expecting poor Jace to end up in Draicon Arena in DH, and I thought, what if for some reason Davira turns against Rothas and throws him in the arena...against Jace?
Or Rothas could be throw in the arena and torn apart by wild dogs. Though I would rather see him against Jace, any painful death wil do.
So after the series ends, let’s just assume they all live and Daniel becomes king because #happyendings, I would assume Daniel would end slavery either immediately or phasing it out, and they’ll probably try and match kids up with their parents, but there will be kids without families and ones who are definitely orphans. I can just see Jace and Kyrin taking in some of them and adopting them. Just imagine Jace sitting up all night with a little girl they saved from slavery because she had a nightmare. Just imagine Jace helping several little kids transition from slavery into freedom and assuring them everything they’re given is free and no matter what they do they’ll still be part of the family. Just IMAGINE Jace helping kids that he’s adopted with issues he’s dealt with because I am and the picture is so sweet.

So does anybody else want Jace to meet extended family on his father’s side? Just because his biological father was horrible doesn’t mean that the rest of the family is. He could just be a black sheep. I don’t know, I just really want Jace to find them (probably accidentally) and bond with them. It could be through the war. His paternal grandfather or an uncle goes along with all the other nice ryriks to help free Ilyon, and they meet and save each other’s lives or something, and he looks at Jace and goes OMG, you look just like my wife/mother/sister. Cause he looks a lot like his maternal grandfather, but his ryrik traits could look like his grandmother or aunt. Then they figure out they’re family and bond. Like, his paternal grandmother goes “yeah my son was horrible but I’m so glad to meet you!” And he has a wonderful grandfather on that side because on the other side it will always be awkward, and he’s like, “If (Bob) wasn’t already dead I’d kill him myself.” (I’m sure his biological father’s name was not Bob, but whatevs) And he could have a cool aunt because all he has is an uncle on the other side, and maybe younger uncles that are more mischievous, like Kaden. And cousins! He NEEDS cousins. I know he already has a lot of family but he needs more. I really need him to bond with his ryrik family, guys. I don’t know how they would confirm it, but I guess they could ask Rachel, “I know this is awkward and probably horrible but do you remember any distinguishing features of the man that raped you?” And she’s like, “He had a mole on one side of his nose,” and they’re like, “OMG, that’s our Bob!”
That'd be cool! A grandfather and grandmother would be nice after he lost the old couple at the beginning of the first one. :(Hey, what do you think the cover of the last one will have on it?! I'm thinking there'll be a crown on it. :D :D :D What do you girls think? :)
Ah yes, that girl. To be honest, we only saw a blip of her in Resistance (unless I’m forgetting another time we saw her), so aside from her being a nice gal who doesn’t take no racial sass about anyone, we don’t know much about her. So unless we get to see her more, I’mma stay on the fence about her.
I mean, as a Rebekah, I've always been fond of this choice. XD@Janice: That's very understandable to be on the fence. Except for her being super nice I don't remember anything about her either. There is just a general lack of females in the Ilyon world, so a girl who appeared for a second in book one still clings to our minds. ;)
Look, I'm working on my enter-the-book devise so I can go and live there, but it's not quite a thing yet....
I was having a discussion about the lack of unattached female characters just yesterday. and then I come here find I missed out on a conversation 11 months ago, but Kendra added to it this week. (They need to meet the characters from my current book. I accidentally ended up with very few male characters.)

And not #illigitimateheirforthewin. I still want Daniel to ultimately be the one who triumphs. Just, the baby will complicate things!
Ooh, what if it's a girl???
