I officially started!. Only at page 16 but I should be able to get some time in later.

I got to page 34, basically finished the first chapter. This book isn't bad, it's just a bit tougher to follow. I think after I get a few chapters in and understand the author's style in this I'll be ok.

I will get a few chapters in before I get into posting story related thoughts one chapter isn't a lot to go on.

Ok. 94 pages in. It's going to be a slow roll with all the characters to try and remember and the size 4 font. I like it so far but there is a lot of things to keep track of. The writing style is different and took a little bit to get my bearings on how to read it.

I like that he add the fear and stress of battling a dragon in some of the warriors. Usually it's all anger and bravado. Which I don't mind at all.
Just pointing it out.

The passages with the golden bear and her cub were very well done. Written in the perspective momma bear was a nice touch. Made her thought processes a little more basic and instinctive. Similar Mogan being a wyvern. I really appreciate this. (hide spoiler)]

I'm going to keep at it.

At page 188. The story is opening up. Still more characters are joining the the fun. I feel some twists and backstabbing is imminent. I will write up a bit more later.

I'm starting to get the characters figured out. There arr indeed a lot!

The magic system is coming around more which is nice. I'm excited to find out some of the more offensive type magics here.

lol you still have characters more yet dude. sorry I didn't respond much, I was in Alaska for a couple weeks. I loved the battles of that one. I have to put the series on hiatus again until I get a second copy of the Fell Sword, ugh. I had to throw my copy away up there after it got ruined so now I need a new one. Miles Cameron gets money from me a sixth time lol.

Still working my way through this. Not that it's bad. I guess that I'm not super fluent real english....lol.

The 2nd 200 pages is definitely better than the 1st 200.

Gawin appears to be turned into a bit of a half-dragon from a healing spell that Harmodious cast on him. I'm not conviced it was an accident at thia point. Which brings up Thorn. I think he may be a banished knight/spell slinger that has been taken in by the Wild or did that to himself to control the Wild. We continue!

So far, the last 200 pages are the best.

(view spoiler)[about 13 days into the seige and things are bleak. I like the magic duels between Harmodious and Thorn. I kind of figured out who the traitor was but that maybe because I don't trust a lot of characters in this book. Which makes me wonder if there are more traitors....

I thought the scene with the impromptu party was nice. It raised the spirits of those being seiged and pissed Thorn off which I'm guessing was part of the intent. With Thorn assuming Harmodious is dead, this can become quite interesting. (hide spoiler)]

it has been such a long time since I read it but I agree the last 300 pages are so epic.

I thought the interaction with The Wyrm was interesting. It reminded me of Neo speaking with the Architect in The Matrix movies. But the Wyrm controls so much but cares so little.

I will continue with this series after I catch up with a few other group/buddy reads. So glad I started this though. This series has been on the TBR list for far too long.
