I've read my way through
today for 304pg. For now I've put it in for "Animal in the Story" (MGR #2), but it can be moved if needed (purple and pink cover was another option, or mystery).

I started One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. Is anyone familiar with the book? It doesn't say exactly what year it is supposed to take place but it is influenced by the author's own time in a Russian labor camp (1945-1953). The author wrote the book in 1957. Is is safe to say that the book takes place in the 1950's?
Amy, the Wikipedia for that book says it's early 1950's, so that seems perfect.And hurrah for finishing the arcade. PING PING PING!

Yes, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich is quite brilliant :-) Since it was published in 62 - 'i'd vote yes for the 50s :-)

It's almost like my dog designed this theme park ... She loves hot dogs and splashing around. Arcades are OK as they produce plushies which she also loves. All other rides are just boring things the humans go on.
I finally had a very good reading day. I finished The Sherwood Ring for the YA-category to continue building our rollercoaster.

I can’t edit the spreadsheet right now. First my partner’s laptop went kaput. Then they borrowed my trusty machine and that broke down too. Then they took it apart while I was out and when I turned it back on smoke came out. My patience is feeling rather tried...Can someone please enter me for 160 pages on Tuesday and 224 on Wednesday? I’ve also finished The Quiet Death of Thomas Quaid. I had thought to put it under the 1950s but Amy looks like she has that covered so it also fits for thriller and friendship.
Meanwhile, back to Detransition, Baby which, despite lots of recommendations, I’m not particularly enjoying.

Morning team! I should finish my 500+ page book today.
Morning everyone! Having a bit more reading time the next couple of days.
I will finish that 1950's book today if no one else grabs the slot first. I am not enjoying it at all so focusing on it is difficult. I think I have about an hour left to power through. I did manage to read 44 pages of my physical book last night, nearly twice what I have gotten done any other night this week, so that is something I guess!
I finished Twin Crowns for a book over 500 pages. It was a fun fantasy, not taking itself too seriously. I might finish my audiobook that I've been listening to forever tomorrow. We'll see. I'm not sure it will fit any of our remaining prompts any way.
I finished One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich for the 1950's prompt. I have two meetings tonight but I hope to get some time with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz audio in between.

.I'm aiming to finish it today, and it fits three of our outstanding prompts: Multiple lines and friendship for our Rollercoaster; and Circle on the cover for the Merry Go Round. I'm tempted towards the Circle to finish our MGR, but I'm open to other choices.
Don't forget, we don't have to stick with just one of every ride - if you finish a book that works with one of the ones we've completed, but not the outstanding prompts, add it to the sheet!

Definitely go for Pink Cover with this one, as that's one of our missing Ferris Wheel bits.
If you're really struggling with it, though, I could move
to pink/purple cover. I can certainly come up with another "Animal in the Story" one to replace it for the Merry Go Round, and it looks as if we have a couple more of those in the list as well.
Is anyone working on a Romance?

Finished The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook last night! It fit circle on the cover to finish a Merry Go Round! It also fits as a 500 page book if we decide to try for another Rollercoaster. Feel free to move it if needed.

I've moved
to the pink/purple cover under Ferris Wheel (according to Tineye, which another reading challenge I do uses for cover colours, it's 73.9% pink or purple, which I reckon is enough of a majority to count!).That unfinishes the Merry Go Round, but I think we can fix that easily enough.
Earlier today, I also started The Saint Paddy's Promise, which both has Animals featured (rescue centre dog training and a variety of pet cats and dogs), and has the MPG of Romance and a sub-plot with an old woman waiting on a bench for her lost love plus a wedding being planned.
If someone else is close to finishing either an Animal book or a Romance, shout here, and I'll put Saint Paddy into the other one.
If we can get those two ticked off, we have one of each ride in our park!!
Then I'll go back to A Master of Djinn!
I’m hoping to finish the very pink Detransition, Baby tonight albeit with a background of Paw Patrol as my grandson is staying. Maybe some reshuffling to do Trish? It’s frustrating being able to see the spreadsheet but not edit it.

Which rides do you think we have the best chance of completing a second of? I can pick my weekend book based on that.

It seems like Merry Go Round or Rollercoaster have the most options. The book I am reading currently could work for Animal or Friendship.
Wow, we have a nice litte theme park :)The last weekend of the read-a-thon started here. Today we are celebrating my daughter's birthday and I have to entertain a bunch of 5 year olds. So I don't know if I'll have much energy left for reading afterwards.
But I'm still in the middle of 2 books, that I could possibly finish tomorrow, if time permits. They don't fit in many categories. If we're going for a second Merry Go Round or Rollercoaster, as Amy suggested, they would only fit in the rather open categories "fast paced book" or "under 250 pages".
Detransition, Baby is finally finished. Finally! Can someone please enter it plus 116 pages for me on Thursday and 154 on Friday. I’ll look out for some Merry Go Round options in a mo.
I think we're going to check out a food festival today so I'll try and pick a quick book. I can probably do a YA or mystery, but we'd need another 500+ page book if we want to finish another rollercoaster.

Morning all! Well done for finishing our first round of rides.
My worry with a second Merry Go Round is the "book related to music" prompt, as we don't really have a lot of those in the pipeline (like only the one we used for the last Merry Go Round!). However, if someone has one of those on the go, then let's go for it.
I'll admit, I'm tending towards Roller Coaster, if one of you is already well into a 500+ book.
That's pretty much the same problem as Swimsuits for the Splash Pool, but again, if someone has one on the go...
Arcade might also be a possible? I've just got the Hugo Voting pack, so there are MANY SF books in it, some of which are quite quick reads.
I didn't quite finish The Saint Paddy's Promise yesterday, but I've polished it off this morning. It fits three of the Merry Go Round prompts (not the music one); and two of the Roller Coaster ones: fast paced, mystery, friendship. Anyway, it's in the spreadsheet to the right, awaiting assignment.
If we go for Roller Coaster, then the ones
fits is Lines on the Cover (because geometric shapes are surrounded by lines, right :) ) and Mystery or Thriller. For Arcade, AMOD fits all but "Black Cover".

I’m on track to finish a 500+ pager if we want to do the roller coaster, If not I might finish another shorter book.

Roller Coaster sounds like it could be a go then. I'll pop The Saint Paddy's Promise in for friendship to get started (although it can move to Mystery if someone else is working on Friendship).
Two down, five to go, with three in the pipeline. I've started marking them in a different colour, so we know which ones are for Round Two.
A Master of Djinn has lines on it and would count for mystery/thriller.
Clockwork Angel fits YA, roller coaster, so I put it there, thus starting off our 2nd roller coaster. It seems we are in agreement about this :)And then I'll get to finishing my 500+ pager.
