This would appear to be science fiction. I received it as a Christmas present, complete with an autograph and a dedication. I have never heard of the author before. There is a certain pressure to like it, but at least the prologue seems promising.

And finished it. That was quick. Then, the book is a bit of a page-turner. It was rip-roaringly funny space opera in the grand tradition of the genre. It also deserves more attention than it currently has, so I took the effort of writing a longer review.
