Chris Bauer Wonderfully written. I haven't figured out how to give a review, but this is it!

Bookworm Baxter is usually always a good choice. Among his singletons , "Time Ships" (like "Evolution", in my opinion his best novel) is one of his most remarkable works.

He is the only one who succeeds in giving Wells' story a cosmological twist.

The description of the change of his protagonist (who has just returned from the Eloi future of the Wells classic) towards the Morlock scientist(!) Nebogipfel (against whom he has prejudices - partly based on his encounter with them before) is convincing.

Nebogipfel, on the other hand, is the consistently positive character in his patience and loyalty to the time traveler.

A must-read, as it connects the Victorian hero with the most distant civilizations, right up to the end of the universe.
