When Tracy first met with Stan Fields, he made it clear that he’d had no interest in seeking out Devin Chambers to further validate her alibi. After Tracy reported back to him that she was looking for her, Fields took steps to reassert jurisdiction over the case. Did you find that curious he’d never looked for her? What did you make of him pressing to get the case back?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments At this point, I thought he was a sexist cop. I thought it was strange that he didn't check out her alibi, but I didn't see him as a cop who did a thorough investigation. He took the shortest route to close his cases.

It felt like he didn't want a woman to show him up. Also, I thought he wanted the kudos when the case was solved. He wanted to prove that he was right that the husband did it.

See, this is where I started getting suspicious of Fields. When he hadn’t followed through with talking to Devin (really basic investigative work), I thought he was just a lazy detective. After he fought hard to get the case back, I knew he was up to something. It made me begin to look at him a bit closer and things weren’t adding up.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments Good point. It should have triggered something for me too. I think it was because he was ex-vice. Towards the end of their careers, some vice cops want to coast through to retirement because their undercover experiences are so dreadful.

And that’s how I saw him. His fight to get the case back made no sense.

Robin (robinmy) | 2478 comments I just thought Fields was lazy. But I didn't know why he and his boss wanted jurisdiction over the case.
