I thought she was dead. I thought Dugoni was giving her point of view up to her murder. I don't know if I hoped that she was dead, but I did hope they would catch her.

I first thought she was dead because I believed it was her in the crab pot. As the story progressed, I became convinced that wasn’t her but still wasn’t sure she was still alive. The more I learned about Graham, the more I hoped she was still alive. I didn’t want him to get her money.

I thought he would show more of Andrea's thoughts and death since Tracy compared the events to her sister. It made sense to me that Dugoni would give Andrea's point of view. Jonetta, I did start to question if she was dead or a murderer as the story progressed.I didn't want Graham to get her money either. He was another sleazebag.
I did but she is so naive about men, and she wanted to be open with her husband. She didn't see him as a gold digger until it was too late.

She’s sitting there in that loan officer’s office, cringing at Graham’s lies and knowing that the business venture was doomed to fail. Her mentioning the trust fund at that moment was just crazy.

I was convinced that Andrea was alive and had set up her husband so the cops believed that he had killed her. I was even wondering if she put the body in the crab pot. Early in the narrative she said something that caught my attention. She said that she lived with her aunt and uncle, but was moved after "I told them my uncle climbed into my bed every night". The phrasing caught my attention. I thought she would have said that her uncle was slipping into her bed every night, but that changed after I told someone. I began to believe she lied about her uncle molesting her. That made me question everything she said in the narration. She came across sometimes as cold and manipulative especially when she told her husband that she wanted to try climbing Mt. Rainier again. Maybe that was what the author was going for to throw us off.
I agree with you both. I couldn't believe that she would bring up her inheritance in the middle of the meeting at the bank. That was crazy.

I thought she was dead and we were getting her perspective on what had happened. Like you guys I wondered why she brought up her inheritance at all. That was crazy. Afterwards when we found out what happened and that he was abusive - I wondered if she was afraid if the banker found out about her inheritance and she hadn't told Graham what he would do to her.
Melissa, That makes sense that she was afraid the banker would find out about the inheritance and tell Graham.
