Welcome to the Divergent Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on May 16th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each day we will be reading by chapters or page numbers. Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

Week of 05/16
May 16th - 20%
May 17th - 40%
May 18th - 60%
May 19th - 80%
May 20th - Finish

I finished the first 20% pretty early during 1st and 3rd hour. I really like the world so far, I find it super interesting. I don't have too many feelings about tris, I find her annoying at times and at other times relatable. I think this is going to be a 4 star read.

I've watched this movie so I know the basic plot but so far it's pretty similar to the movie. I do really like the idea of this world

I finished another 20% and still have the same feelings. I am starting to like tris a little bit more, but I still find her annoying at times. I have the DVD for the movie so I'll probably watch it after finishing the book.

I finished my next 20%, I'm continuing to like tris more and more. I feel like the writing style is nothing special, but it tells the story well. When I get home I'm going to check out or put a hold on the next book. Do you want to buddy read that one too?

Yea we can but I've heard bad things about it and the movie so be prepared

I finished it I'm out of town rn so it's not going to be in the spreadsheet for a little. But overall I think the book was pretty good. I do find it a little weird that tris didn't seem that affected from killing Will maybe it's bc we did see that much of her with her thoughts she was just going going. But yea im excised to see how her and Four deal with all this new trauma that they have. That sounded really creepy....anyways
