I will miss Pat's writing terribly, she should absolutely have been awarded SFWA Grand Master, shameful she hasn't been.
More than ever, I will miss her gentle presence at ICFA and other events. She was a unique star that flew way too far under the radar for the accomplishments of her career.
Few can delve into the human psyche as deeply and insightfully as she did in her works, and not resort to bloody violence. The philosophical punch packed into her poetic expression puts more on one page than many writers manage in an entire novel.
We have lost a treasure and a true light. Her bibliography is quite extensive, and impressive, and mostly standalones. If you have not checked out her works, definitely don't miss out.
Shame on the obit listings that placed her as 'YA and childrens' - she absolutely wrote with adult concept and depth. That her themes were not expressed with violence is was done with more depth, sensitivity, and sophistication than slapping a 'PG' label on top suggests. Please don't be misled.
If you have read and loved GG Kay, she's a logical step on your TBR must have list.

I can't believe that anyone who has read any of her books would list her as a YA author.
I've read her Riddlemaster trilogy, and Alphabet of Thorns and been meaning to read many others of her books, sorry to hear that there won't be more.
