It really is a lovely town, and a great place to visit. It doesn't have a lot of things for my inner nerd (no bookstore, comic shop etc.) but it has a lot of beautiful places to hang out. If you ever come this way let me know!

New Port Richey is a great place. My sister and her husband lived there back in the early 90's. The place has grown so much now. Lots to do over there and you will be close to the beach. :)
Marie and I are going to do brunch when I move to Florida.
I’ve heard good this about NPR. The housing market there is a bit better than Tampa too. 😉

I am from the NYC area. I get to see the Statue of Liberty literally every day.

Washington State, not far from Portland, Oregon, South of Seattle, East of Goonies town Astoria, Oregon, and just down the road a bit from Mount Saint Helens. Oh, and we have one of my favorite places across a bridge called Halloween Town (Saint Helens) Oregon. The Dockside makes the best peanut butter burgers :0)

Halloween Town in Saint Helens, Oregon is where they filmed the Disney film Halloween Town and the filmed parts of Twilight there. They have a big "to do" all through October every year, with a big parade, haunted house, and Halloween themed things going on. As for peanut butter burgers, I was hesitant at first, but took the challenge from our haunt family, and was so shocked at how delicious it was. It's got to be creamy peanut butter and it comes with bacon ,cheese, and pickles. The Dockside restaurant in this town makes the best ones. Felina, I will shock you just a bit more, I upped the recipe by putting jalapeño lime jelly on a peanut butter burger at home and I think it might be the holy grail of burgers...so so yummy :0)Marie, I will find a good link for the town to post in here. I think most of you would really enjoy it.
Ian, yes there is 1 Burgerville near me but with all the rerouting, it's difficult to get into. I lived in Vancouver for quite a few years too. I still visit to pick up my comics in that town.

Ian, that sounds like it was an interesting store. I am sure I would have enjoyed it. When I lived in Vancouver, I used to go to a place on Grand Ave called Pegasus Books but they closed up. Now I go to a fantastic shop called I Like Comics. They put on some amazing comic book signings and have a huge variety of comics, graphic novels, toys...it's just the coolest place.
Alia, hope you get to visit the town some day. If you don't go for the burgers, they have fantastic pasta dishes too. Plus, they make really good drinks as well :0)

I know I'm late to the party, Steven, but welcome! I'm a bit north of you, but also in WA.
I wonder if the PB hamburgers is just a WA thing or in the pacific northwest. One of my favorite local places has them. I've not tried it myself, but been tempted. (I usually ask them to pile on a ton of jalapenos.) I know some people swear by them. I will try almost anything once... so I think that needs to happen as part of my diet.
